Come to think of it, there were at least two other planned Dracula films by Hammer that never went ahead. First of a trilogy, perhaps? (OK, "Vampirella" might be a bit tricky, but what about "Vlad the Impaler", did that reach scripting stage?)

Another title it had during development stage is Kali, Devil Bride of Dracula, which is an intriguing title as I've ever heard. Cannot wait for this. I just hope it becomes commercially available after transmission. Or before, to be honest! We're really being spoilt at the moment for horror audio.

It should certainly be available after transmission on the BBC iplayer radio app to those if us not in the UK and hopefully it receives a CD release. And everything about this interests me. The time period, the location. All of it.

I really enjoyed that. Lovely work on the script, nice performances and a terrific channeling of Lee as the Count. I liked that a lot. More of that, please.

My only issue was that it was so narration-driven. But given a lot of the info in a Hammer movie is visual, I guess narration is one way of doing it. Perhaps another way could have been found, but I wonder whether it would have made it a lot less evocative of Hammer at the time?
I agree with the positive comments on this production. I should give it another listen knowing its style

I should give it another listen knowing its style I generally don't go for radio that's heavy on narration but Michael Sheen gave this a lot of energy. He really gave it full beans and kept the energy levels up all the way through. I generally prefer dialogue and soundscape to tell the story, though.

Wonderful stuff. I also am not a fan of narration but it really worked hear creating the atmosphere. Can't wait for the sequel.
