Four new adventures have been adapted from James Mitchell's Telegraph Short Stories by his son Peter Mitchell. "It was a tremendous privilege to be invited to take part in this project," Peter said. "I grew up with David Callan and he was the first television character created by my father which brought him to prominence.
The original series of course was one of the best TV-Drama shows ever(Not to be missed!)It gave us an insight into what went on behind the façade of the real cold war/The ruthless, stark, sinister, gritty, machinations of the cloak and dagger world, which made James Bond look like Mickey-Mouse.the acting was brilliant, the scripts superb. The performances of Edward Woodward(Callan) Russel Hunter(lonely) Anthoney Valentine as Toby Meres the psychopath and callans boss Hunter(played by various people throughout the series) as well as Patrick Mower(David Cross) produced a chemistry which made the show compulsive viewing, as good as "The Prisoner"and"The Equaliser" were, IMHO they pale into insignificance when compared to this.
Okay, I need to watch this NOW. It's really, really good. (Quietly, I also suggest Season 2 of The Equalizer onwards, it's an utterly brilliant show with Edward Woodward putting in just as iconic a performance.) Have fun!

Tara King has always been a huge favourite for me since I saw the TV series back in the 1980s.

They can't just take peoples' money for a product, 'postpone indefinitely' and bury the advisory of that in an unrelated news piece. I emailed into the podcast a week/week-and-a-half ago inquiring on this very subject because I had no idea of the bit buried in the news piece you shared (thank you), so it'll be interesting to hear whether I make it into the emails this weekend. EDIT: Or perhaps no emails at all in this week's podcast then.

Just in case you haven't noticed, Callan 2 is currently listed as a June release. I don't recall this being announced, so whether this is a realistic release date is a matter of speculation

I don't recall this being announced, so whether this is a realistic release date is a matter of speculation I think that's old, IIRC they first pushed it back to January or February, then to June, and then off the schedule entirely. If you look on the product page they removed any date and have listed it just as "TBA," and if you've preordered and try to find it in your account ("ordered but not yet released"), it doesn't show up at all while other "TBA" release titles do. I'm not chomping at the bit for Volume 2 as I haven't yet listened to Volume 1, but I am a little miffed....not that it's been bounced around the schedule, but miffed that they've done so with almost no communication after taking peoples' money for orders.

The first volume was fantastic. It was disappointing that the 2nd volume was pushed back, toss that in with the Jekyll and Hyde delay and how difficult it has been to get any form of an update, it doesn't make me too trusting of pre-orders on the non-Doctor Who products. I realize that there are often very good reasons for the delays - Big Finish should be upfront with that, rather than ignoring the issue as they have for the most part with J&H. It doesn't show much respect for their customers.

It doesn't show much respect for their customers. I do think they were pretty upfront with the fact that a major star wasn’t able to record for the foreseeable future. Jekyll and Hyde is different as nothing has been really said for that so I understand that. Anyways...

Was downloading the latest Avengers release and noticed that Callan vol 2 has disappeared from my preorder list. Is this standard practice when a release is delayed?
