It’s not sometime never. The scripts are written and ready to record (and they’re terrific). They have been since last year. It’s just a question of actor availability.

The 1st Boxset was terrific!,and i think most of us were aware it was actor availability,( and that the scripts were all ready) which of course is nobodys fault.its just seems the cursed December slot,for some Boxsets signals a portent of doom.

Why don’t they email people who did the preorder and tell them the reason? Putting it on a podcast or putting on a message board isn’t the best way to reach customers who handed over money to receive a product on a certain date. The least they can do is communicate to those people, when they have their money, at the delay.. why is that so hard for BF to do?

Finally been listening to Volume 1 this weekend. I've been enjoying it, even if it's not quite as raw as I was expecting. Still really put out by this Volume 2 business, though. Eight months of radio silence since the last "update," which was itself just a line buried at the very bottom of an unrelated news posting! I've been seriously kicking around the idea of emailing in to cancel my order. I don't want to sound entitled, but if you've taken my money, you owe me better communication than this. EDIT: The collective "you," not you specifically, JD. I appreciate that you pop in here from time to time

Finally been listening to Volume 1 this weekend. I've been enjoying it, even if it's not quite as raw as I was expecting. My memories of the TV series are of a show quite a bit harsher than the stories in Big Finish's Volume 1. The audio is good and I look forward to Vol 2 eventually, but I was expecting something with a bit more nasty in it. Maybe this has to do with the newspaper short story origins of the Big Finish episodes, or maybe my decades-old memories of the TV series are inaccurate, vaguely remembering the shocking bits and forgetting all the average stuff.

I appreciate that you pop in here from time to time Speaking for myself, I think this is due to actor unavailability which is genuinely beyond BF's control so I am prpared to wait and not get angry or blame BF. I ordered the bundle but vol 1 is still in my backlog so I can wait. This is different to the situation with Jekyll and Hyde where the factors causing the delay (Nick's poor time management/ taking too much on) are completely within BF's control, plus they brought it on themselves by announcing it and taking pre-orders way too early, and I would be a lot less sympathetic and supportive over J&H than I would be over Callan 2. Another contrast is Charley 3 which is also stuck in BF development hell but the difference here is they haven't opened it for pre orders, so whilst we are entitled to be disappointed by the delay we are not really entitled to be angry or complain because none of us have paid for anything yet.

I was wondering about the status of v.2 of Callan just the other day. The first set was so good that I could easily imagine us discussing a forthcoming v.4 rather than wondering when/if we ever get our ears on v.2.

My apologies to the creative folks involved in this -- I really did enjoy Volume 1 -- but the appallingly poor communication from the company regarding something I long ago paid them for....yeah, my patience on this has run out. It has been a year and a half since the last real update, and over a year since even that last, underhanded update. I just emailed in asking for a refund on Volume 2.
