Your general entertainment related (not Big Finish or Doctor Who) purchases of the day. Some suggestions: - Electronic devices
- Video games
- Movie and live theatre tickets
- Sporting event tickets
- Magazines/books/comic books
- Radio drama/audiobooks - CD/digital
- TV/movie - DVD/digital
- Music - CD/digital
- Board games
- Interesting toys
My latest entertainment purchase was 3 days ago when Amazon.ca had a 1 day only special on the Red Dwarf: Complete Collection (Series 1-8) DVD set for $38 with free shipping. Its current price direct from Amazon is now $124.70.

The 2008 Updated edition of The Greatest Sci-Fi Movies Never Made, with the two extra chapters Your purchase reminds me that I added 1001 Movies You Must See Before You Die to my Amazon wish list 6 years ago and haven't done a darn thing about it after that. Since then, there have been 3 new updated editions of that book!

Bought Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic on the Xbox Live/backward compatibility market yesterday. Not that I needed it...this is probably the fifth or sixth time/platform I’ve bought it on, played it more times than I care to admit. But when I saw it on there...I had to have it

Pre-ordered the 14th novel in the Gaunt's Ghosts series The Warmaster, which is finally out later this month after a long delay (six years since the last novel, a couple of short stories excluded) huge fan of the series and can't wait to see where it goes next. wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/The_Warmaster_(Novel)en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gaunt%27s_Ghosts-Gaunt's Ghosts is Warhammer 40,000 military sci-fi, it follows Colonel-Commissar Ibhram Gaunt as he leads the Tanith 1st and Only regiment (picture a regiment of beardy tattooed celtic inspired stealth soldiers and snipers crossed with Sharpe set in the 40k universe) from the ashes of their destroyed homeworld (hence the nickname the Ghosts) through the bloody campaign known as The Sabbat World's Crusade, action packed military sci-fi with an epic scope, great characters and some long running (and surprisingly moving) subplots it's never going to win literary awards but is a great series as tie-in fiction goes (and I don't even play/collect the 40k tabletop game, the Eisenhorn and Ravenor trilogies that are referenced in the ghosts novels are even better), though it's always a tad nerve wracking waiting to see which character Abnett will kill off next... Also bought the graphic novel adaptation of the 1970's military sci-fi classic novel The Forever War, it's one of my favourite books and the graphic novel (which first came out in the 1980's) has been long out of print, but was recently re-released by Titan comics, really intrigued to see how it was adapted, especially as the long mooted film adaptation seems to be stuck in development hell... en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Forever_War_(comics)www.amazon.co.uk/Forever-War-Joe-Haldemann/dp/1785860895/

I’m a big star wars fan but I own none of the DVDs Now having recently watched Rogue one, I sort of went crazy and I want to purchase the DVDs ( I watched a borrowed copy). My head says I’ve already watched it so no point splurging whereas my heart says - cmon I loved it so I have to own it. Dilemma. What do I do ?

A David Lynch bluray bundle just released in France - David Lynch: The Art Life and The Short Films Of David Lynch (which features the sublime Frenchman And The Cowboy short with Harry Dean Stanton). Very excited to see The Art Life, I had the shorts on DVD but it's nice to upgrade. Need to be Lynch complete at all times.

I just ordered the entire Blu-Ray set for Episodes 1 to 6 and Rogue One as well. Spent a huge amount of money. Now I just need to dig a hole in the ground and hide from my excessive shopping syndrome.

No Mans Land is a great story, if you like Batman Dead Whites another excellent release as is Daredevil The Man Without Fear audio. I just ordered Planet Hulk from Graphic Audio. Based on your enthusiastic past recommendation on the now defunct Big Finish forum, I bought and listened to Dead White in 2015. It's definitely something that you wouldn't hear from Big Finish! Next time GraphicAudio has a noteworthy sale (which occurs quite often) on their CDs, I'll go with your Daredevil suggestion. It amazes me that nowadays Daredevil and especially Captain America are so very popular! When I was a comic book collector (1980s) those 2 candidates were not desired reads in my circle of associates. I am trying to talk myself out of wanting Planet Hulk. With Big Finish's always continuing increased output; I'm attempting to gear down on buying too many Black Library, GraphicAudio, BBC etc. story products. I can't keep up with listening to them all!

Yeah they are like 6-8 hours long stories so there not a quick listen, Daredevil is a brilliant adaption of the Graphic Novel & Deadpools Paws is bats..t crazy. I wish they'd do some more DC adaptions though been a few years since any DC related content had a release.
