Volume 2 of Indicator's wonderful bluray releases of the more obscure Hammer films. Ooh, region free...and a limited edition ha ha. Considering that I've only seen a handful of Hammer Horror films and own none on disc, I should probably start with a novice set. I added this one to my Amazon wish list today:

Considering that I've only seen a handful of Hammer Horror films and own none on disc, I should probably start with a novice set. I added this one to my Amazon wish list today: The set I've got is more Crime Thrillers than horror - Indicator are trying to make people more aware of non-monster Hammers, I think or at least more non-Dracula/Frankenstein. That set is fantastic - you'll love it. The rights issues mean there's no such thing as a "complete" Hammer - even the Draculas and Frankensteins are with loads of different companies - so you end up with a kinda crazy collection where nothing matches and half of the spines just say "Hammer Collection" or some variant rather than the titles of the films.....first world problems. Indicator are doing at least 2 more Hammer sets this year. This one costs a pretty penny but it's AMAZING. www.amazon.co.uk/Hammer-Horror-Collection-Redux-Christopher/dp/B0193749RA/ref=sr_1_2?s=dvd&ie=UTF8&qid=1518802766&sr=1-2&keywords=hammer+box+set+blu+ray

That set is a beast - 1,600 minutes! It is costly, but like anything if one really wanted it... For now (baby steps), I'll stick with purchasing the Horror Classics - 4 Chilling Movies from Hammer Films (Warner Bros.) Blu-ray. * The Amicus Collection (Severin) Blu-ray also looks appealing (I have previously enjoyed viewing The Beast Must Die!); however, apparently the video transfer quality of that set is appalling.* Attachment DeletedDavid - Thank you for the exposure and encouragement.

No worries Jason - that Amicus set is on my list. Asylum is a belter of a film. Truly wonderful. From Beyond the Grave is a fave anthology portmanteau of mine from Amicus. Peter Cushing runs an antique shop where everyone who buys something gets their own version of "The Monkey's Paw" story. Very underrated.

Picked up Guardians of the Galaxy: Deluxe Edition soundtrack and Game of Thrones: Season 7 Soundtrack, both on vinyl. The GoT one was a limited edition; the first disc is an orange/brown colour with wood-like texturing, while the second is a beautiful blue colour with similar texturing. In short, it's a magnificent looking set! (And comes with a free download of the album, so that's pretty cool too )

I've been meaning to get them for ages. It just so happened this was on the shelf when I was shopping (I really do need to get around to getting the rest though. I'm thinking of getting the iTunes downloads and filling in any other vinyl sets that take my fancy. I'm thinking of getting Season 1 and Season 3 in particular as I remember them having some of my favourite pieces )

Other than that I loved Rains of Castamere and The North Remembers (I think season 2 if I remember correctly)

Other than that I loved Rains of Castamere and The North Remembers (I think season 2 if I remember correctly) "Rains of Castamere", absolutely!!! I also love "The Kingsroad" (I think that's what it's called) from Season 1. I also love just about every variation of the Stark theme. I can't remember "A Lannister Always Pays His Debts" by name (they (obviously) don't display the song names during the episodes, so I only really know the names of the popular ones), but I do enjoy a lot of the Lannister music too, so I'm sure it's brilliant EDIT: Just checked "A Lannister..." on YouTube. That's my third favourite version of "Rains of Castamere"! The only other one that tops it is the Season 7 variation (don't know what it's called yet, I've yet to listen to the album ). It's the one used for the DVD menu

I have to go back and listen to it now

Dracula AD 1972 is on bluray in Germany. While it'd be nice to get them - and all Hammer - under one banner, we wouldn't have all these films unless all the various production companies and distributors funded them in the first place so it's catch 22.

Ordered the vinyl soundtracks for Seasons 4 & 6 of Game of Thrones. According to the website they'll be the limited editions, but I'm not holding my breath (they're supposed to be limited to the first 2000, and if Season 4's hasn't reached that yet I'll be a little surprised )

Local store was doing a "Buy 2, Get 1 Free" movie deal, as well as 20% off DVDs (and I had a further 10% off because I'm a loyalty club member), so I grabbed: The Lord of the Rings trilogy (theatrical editions) The Hobbit trilogy (theatrical editions) The Harry Potter series Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them Twice Upon A Time (I was going to get Doctor Who: Series 10, but it turns out my Dad had already bought it (for twice the price...)) And I also grabbed Se7en and Fight Club for a friend. All for about $130! A successful day, methinks!
