I just want the stories to work, full stop. The writing is what will make the show work for people. Not liking a story is fine, I've disliked many Doctor Who episodes over the years and it wasn't because the Doctor was male, so I don't expect it to be any different with Doctor #13. It's either going to be enjoyable to watch or it isn't, just like every other TV drama. If the stories are good nobody is going to pay attention to who the Doctor is, it's just Doctor Who. While the people who watch Doctor Who just to moan about it every week have been moaning for years over every little thing, so they'll just moan anyway.

personally I think this will be the most difficult time for the TV doctor.......everything is at stake......the BBC must have faith in chibnall's ideas for now at least. they will make a good go at getting it right, but good intentions can lead to disaster! and I fear that's the path they are currently on. I have to agree with the original poster that please please people on here (the sane insane!) however you feel, to remember that we are all entitled to our views, misogynistic inclined or not its a tv program (not the real world!) we are discussing and we need to keep the veiled attacks and unveiled attacks on people away from here. me I am currently in the hate everything I am reading and seeing about all changes (certainly not just the gender politics issue), but am open minded to see how it goes but very dubious as to weather or not I can freely air my views any longer the insults I received both on and off here make me wonder if its worth bothering and I suspect I am not alone. Excellently put my friend, i personally don't want a female doctor but it seems if your against the minority your criticised, my reaction to fans telling me what i should or shouldn't like is f... off.

I recall aztec posting up a few months back about the circumstances of Chibnall's past Who work. To recap: Chibnall was almost always last minute, a reserve guard when another writer falls through. Every story, from 42 to Power of Three, had to be turned around in very little time (almost akin to how soaps are written. Love them or hate them, any writer who can write more than 3 episodes is superhuman). We've yet to actually see what Chibnall can really do, when given the proper time to write. Sitll, if your not-best is something like 42.... you're doing kinda alright by most standards.

If that's true than it shall be very interesting to see how Chibnall does writing stories with this amount of time as I thought Power of Three could have been something great had it had an extra episode. It essentially wrapped up just as the story was getting good.
