Thought someone would have mentioned, there's quite a lengthy preview of the set in the new DWM from last week. One titbit that will go down well here - the feature of the writer's room getting together to discuss the "lost" Season 23 will feature clips from the BF Lost Stories range to augment the feature. It'l be little snippets, no doubt, but nice exposure for BF nonetheless. Seems David Richardson was the liason and of course Chris Chapman both makes the docs and writes BF so there's plenty of goodwill to make that happen. It sounds like the writer's room will be a lot less cosy than the S18 feature was!
The extended editions of the episodes will be Discs 5 and 6 rather than be on the disc for each particular story. 1-8 on Disc 5 and 9-13 on Disc 6. There are a SHEDLOAD of extras for this. There's a full page just listing them there's so much!

Seriously though it is excellent news about the BF stuff, and yes just how "catty" will it be between the participants?

Remember it'd only be over-posting if I added it in 3 threads then started a new one. Or something like that! I think any room Christopher HAMILTON Bidmead goes in automatically gets a whiff of trouble coming in...he's not backwards at coming forwards! Add that to Saward's strong opinions and no wonder sparks fly - even the pic they use in the DWM article they both look furious! Am I reading it right that it seems Bidmead kinda just comes out and says "Well...when I left the show was fine - it was you that got pulled!" That should be an interesting chat to say the least.

Do we know what follows up Series 23? The guy on Roobards who was correct about the release pattern was politely asked to stop leaking future sets' orders though we do know recordings have been done for Seasons 17 and 26 for sure from various cast and crew saying so. My guess that I can bump on the off chance its right and make myself seems like a genius? Season 26 out in the UK on December 9th.

The rumour floating about at the moment is Season 14 is to follow 26, with Season 11 and 24 after that. Take that with a pinch of salt, though.

The new interview with Brian Blessed should be amazing fun, it's compiled from outtakes of his interview from the original Trial boxset - on that only stuff relevant to his role in the season was used but this newly edited feature will have him talking about him watching the show, being offered the job of The Doctor and his friendships with many of The Doctors. Essentially Brian Blessed just gushing about Doctor Who in general. Worth 35 quid on it's own!

S23 is delayed to the 7th of October. Hopefully this means they'll catch the problems first rather than have to replace discs later.

Set the stage for a hugely successful revival seems like a very polite way of saying we got cancelled.
I think it would have simply been better to say it was the final season without beating around the bush.

Yeah, "Going out on a creative high..." seems more based in reality but I doubt anyone is buying these on the basis of the copy anyway. Lovely artwork: Attachment DeletedGlad that it also keeps alive my belief that we could get a Wilderness Years box for the TV Movie, as a lot of people seemed to think that was going to be bunged on here.

It's a completely wild idea, but I'd be very interested in seeing a 30 Years in the TARDIS-style documentary for the Wilderness Years attached to a box for the TV Movie and other projects. Bring the Blu-ray trailer recreations full circle, as it were. Basically as an excuse to see more, I've been rather enjoying them.

There are already the Doctor Who Forever docs that would fit perfectly in there, on the books, toys and merch. Even just in what already exists we've got The TVM and the stacks of features for that, 30 Years, Scream Of The Shalka, McGann's Shada, Real Time and Death Comes To Time's flash vids, Doctor Who Night 1999 and in an ideal world for completism even an unlikely one due to rights Dimensions In Time and Curse Of Fatal Death (which even on my VHS has a Making Of doc, ready to go) - add on all the small odds and sods and I think there's plenty that could make that set viable. That's before you need to make even one single new feature - Matthew Sweet interviewing McGann, TVM Behind The Sofa and hopefully McGann would return in character for the trailer! Reason enough right there!

I really need to go back and relisten to Real Time... It's wonderful how captivating they all were. It'd be great to hear from the various artists of the era as well like Lee Sullivan. Those that gave Who a new, distinctive aesthetic despite it not being on television.

BTW for our Aussie members, I see Roadshow will no longer be involved in the process of releasing these and it will be Universal Sony Pictures Home Entertainment Australia Pty Ltd and, in New Zealand, Universal Pictures NZ. No idea if that is causing the delays or not or what it would mean longer term but I read Roadshow are in pretty bad shape. Would certainly explain why dates vanished from the release calendar.

Do you know anything about when there might be an Aus release date of Season 10? This is the first update I've had for about a month now.

The big draw for me with this S26 is the VHS Fenric - that's another video I can now retire. The SE was OK but the VHS cut is the definitive one for me. Hopefully one day we'll get the Silver Nemesis VHS extended cut which never made it to DVD either (nor did the VHS making of) And, of course, my customary mention that I love that Region A will get this as Sylvester McCoy Season 3. Such a wonderfully awkward naming convention.
