Gosh I love all of these trailers so much. It's a shame S12 didn't get one, they only started it with the 2nd release (S19, Tegan's airline) - maybe we can get one for the upcoming limited S12 re-release! Start with a shot of Jon Pertwee from Planet of the Spiders, match dissolve to present-day Tom Baker who stands up (revealing we're in his living room) and proceeds to sift through his closet past all of those costumes he showed off to the Brigadier...

I'd fancy a revisit of the K1 Robot, growing bigger with the bluray in hand, leaving us with a copy of S12 as big as a house.

Imagine if it were a sequel to this one with Tom on the phone - "Louise, I went ahead and got one of those assistants you were going on about, but I'm not sure how you find the space for one, it's enormous!"

Honestly as an American it's really annoying. Like I get not releasing same day, but a three month delay feels like overkill for a wait time when by the end of the DVD range it was really just a month's difference at most.

Are those who’ve ordered with Zoom had delivery of Season 26 today? If so, enjoy!
I normally order with them - especially due to the cashback - but I had some Amazon vouchers from work that I’ve used on this.

Now then, Brigadier, will you save the world one more time...?

Completely forgot about S26 being dispatched so I was surprised to come in from work and find it waiting for me. Gonna be firing up the Bluray player later to have an afternoon with Seven and Ace!

Just in from a productive day and feeling upbeat, but my Amazon pre-order isn't expected til Monday, so if anyone else wants to pull me back down by posting about how good their newly arrived set looks and what they will be watching tonight, fire away, i forgive you... I'm sure its marvellous - just wish they would release these officially so that they arrive in time for the weekend, as opposed to maudlin Monday's.

Got my set today. Gorgeous work on the art and booklet as usual. Can’t wait to get stuck in later this week. Not sure where to start!

I watched all four Behind The Sofas today. Lovely as always. I think my fave sofa team this time are Joy Wilkinson (who wrote The Witchfinders last season) and Pete McTighe (who as well as writing Kerblam! and this week's ep Praxeus also writes the lovely skits we get to announce these boxsets as well as the amazing big thick booklets that come loaded with stuff). They work really nicely together, Joy hasn't seen S26 much at all but Pete struggles not to completely fanboy out every few mins. He keeps going "Watch this bit!" and "wait till you see this" - he's really excited to show Joy this season and it's really just charming. Pete also says Ghost Light is a Top 5 story for him while Fenric may be his all time favourite so he's certainly a big, big S26 devotee. Knowing that makes me want to re-examine Kerblam and look out in Praxeus to see if there's anything later-McCoy about the writing anywhere in the DNA. They're SO into these stories they're often literally on the edge of their seats watching them. It's really just sweet. You see Joy totally fall in love with Ace, while Pete (wearing his Ace t-shirt) gets to share his love for all things Aldred! Janet and Sarah are there as always, with Janet's blanket. They're joined by Anneke Wills. Watching these three go through Ghost Light is hysterical. They seem to think at the start it's going to be something more...Black Orchid. Within a few scenes they're completely lost and have absolutely no idea what's going on and why anything is happening. So...y'know - quite a common Ghost Light reaction! They all love Fenric though which was nice to see. They really dog on McCoy's logo, theme tune and title sequences though, all three are in agreement it's dated far worse than their earlier eras. Fair comment, I think, though through my own prism where McCoy's Doctor WAS The Doctor when I first remember Who and that logo meant new VNAs to read...I'm a bit biased in disagreeing with them. They all seem a bit jealous about some of the location work that this era gets and you'd think they were watching Avengers Endgame when the chopper arrives for The Brig they're so impressed by the budget. Janet's very good at praising some of the technical aspects like the prosthetics and the costumes. Particular praise is reserved for The Destroyer. And Janet seems to think Michael Cochrane was cheating on her and Sarah by turning up in Ghost Light without letting them know! A fun little group. Get your own blanket out when watching them and cuddle up! Sylv and Sophie were the last team. I'm sorry to say Sylv seemed very introverted by his standards. Sophie kept trying to pull more out of him but he often just mumbled a response or barely acknowledged her. He didn't seem quite as on the ball or focused as he has in most of the interviews over the years. I guess he's a decade older than a lot of the DVD stuff so he will be a bit more subdued. Sophie did all the work here really, making sure they weren't sitting in silence a lot of the time. It wasn't as dynamic as you'd hope for having these two together again. I really don't mean to sound negative but I think anyone watching it who knows Sylv will see what I mean here. Maybe the format just isn't for him, or it wasn't the best day for him to do it. Still, Sophie's ageless enthusiasm pulls it through. She remembers a lot more than most classic companions where you get the impression some of their Who days are a bit of a blur. So all in all it's what the BTS does best - some laughs, some tender moments, some bitching and a lot of heart.
