It is a very expensive release for just one new episode. I am trying to be positive, but it just makes me miss series 14 even more. Also did not help that I recognise some of lines of dialogue used for Litefoot. They should have either not done this, or had the nerve to have Litefoot completely absent from this story.

Listened to this yesterday whilst cooking the Sunday roast.
A very good send off for the series, inevitably sad both because of Trevor's passing and because of the ending to J&L. Hat off to Paul Morris for a brilliant script that not only ticked all the boxes it needed to but was a good episode in its own right. Paul rose to the occasion, and that is saying something. It wasn't quite as sentimental or emotional as I had expected but that's OK.
J&L really was something special. All BF stuff is (generally) good but they really did capture something unique with J&L. So sad that it has ended.
Was it just me or did anyone else think that the series script editor and its most prolific writer. Justin Richards. was conspicuous by his absence from the interviews CD?

It's taken me this long to listen. Ridiculous, isn't it?
I'll miss these two wonderful, silly, incredible old gentlemen, and this was as good a send-off as I could have hoped. Of course, it could have been hugely sentimental, but it wasn't. I was rather more inclined to shake my head and say, "Ah, bless 'em," every so often than dissolve into tears (which was always a real possibility). The closest I got was when Jago was looking for his friend and couldn't find him: simple as that. This time it wasn't a sure and safe bet that Litefoot would be found, but I'm very glad he was. Too much emotion ... well, it just wouldn't do for these two, would it? Far better to have them continuing their adventures 'off-screen', as it were, and that's what we got. Somewhere, somehow, they're still out there, diverting dastardly deeds with derring-do.
And it was great to hear one final "Henreehh!!" admonishment from The Professor. Wonderful.

I’m surprised that there isn’t a supercut of those many, many “Henry!” ‘s out there somewhere. One day, i’m going to make a bingo card/drinking game list specifically for this series, and that has to be one of the first things i’m putting in it.

One final hurrah for Henry & George.
Not a final adventure, but a celebration of Jago & Litefoot.
A great idea to have them secretly knighted at the palace giving the perfect opportunity to have some returning characters turning up to offer their congratulations to our heroes.
But the story itself felt very much like business as usual, with this being the first story in a new boxset with mysteries still to be solved.....Fingers crossed that somehow, someway, at sometime, we will get to experience the adventures before and after this release.
It was lovely to get more Jago & Litefoot. And listening it did sound like Trevor was actually there for the recording ! A wonderful writing and sound engineering achievement.
Thank you Big Finish.

That was beautifully done by Paul Morris and everyone involved, a story which for me hit all the right notes and did everything I hoped it would - and I had a long list!, which was fully delivered on. ....
And then the audio miracle - no doubt the 'making of' CD explains which series the new footage of Trevor Baxter came from (and as a fan I'll be interested to hear that.) But as a fan I was more than happy to just enjoy the fun of the unmysterious 'red herrings' explained, the dash to the Palace and the reunion with old friends, and even another link to the new era of 'Doctor Who'. How especially perfect for Louise Jameson/Leela to be there, who was there at the very beginning of J&L in 1977! ... I listened to it this weekend and the BTS yesterday. In the BTS Paul Morris explains how he went through the 60 scripts looking for Litefoot dialogue that fit what he wanted him to say and how he went back and refined the lines around it so it would appear seamless. I thought it was well done for the most part. I completely forgot the S13 cliffhanger. Also in the BTS it mentions that the scripts for S14 were all written or at least drafted. That would be a nice bonus - to see what would have been. I did listen to The Revival again, which was fun, but I am still annoyed as to having to buy it again. Still, $15 for a cracking story and BTS isn't all that bad.

i don't want to sound like the xmas grump......but this is very expensive for what amounts to one story and a back patting doc. "Back-patting?" At this moment in time I am not buying........it’s annoyed me that there is not a download for just drama/doc it feels like cashing in on poor Trevor’s passing. "Cashing in on Trevor's passing...?" Have you ever considered not projecting your own cynicism onto others? The world might look a much brighter place. I forgot that I had pissed you off with my comments. But as I saw you had posted and not abandoned us, I though I would just say what a fantastic job you did. i am nowhere near clever enough with words to say just how good it was but, you did everyone proud, and gave us a satisfying and clever conclusion to one of my favorite things BF has done. the world is a brighter place now! Thank you.

well what can I say a wonderful send off for Trevor. The music suite at the end of the episode left me with the same feeling of the music at the end of the Lord Of The Rings Trilogy.A fitting end to one of the most enjoyable audio series I have had the pleasure to listen to.

Edging my way towards Jago and Litefoot's final chapter (which has been sitting on my shelf for four and a half months now). With Series 10 finished off tonight it just leaves their encounters with the Master, the Old One and a parallel Earth to buy and discover for the first time.
And as I have no desire to see the 'lightning in a bottle' that Big Finish caught with this series come to an end (even though I know it has and eventually for me it will), I'm in absolutely no hurry to get there..

I expected to feel sad anyways it is good to see Jago returning for River set but somehow the twosome just made for wonderful audio.its great though that Trevor lives on through his work. Its one box set series that I just truly enjoy from start to sad finish

Well, I've finally listened to the last of the Jago & Litefoot stories. Over the long weekend, I finished off listening to Jago & Litefoot Forever and The Jago & Litefoot Revival. Very nice set of stories and a fitting ending to the series. So sad there won't be more. As I said elsewhere, I'm not crying, you're crying.

Finally listened to this the other day. It wasn't quite what I was expecting - I was hoping for a bit more new material than we got (i.e. I wish we hadn't had to sit through all of those flashbacks in the museum), but otherwise I thought this was a really nice little story. Jago's little speech to Litefoot's snow globe was really lovely, and even though I knew all the cameos at the end were coming, I still teared up a bit at each of them. Much like the end of BF Blake's 7, I think they repurposed Litefoot's lines pretty seamlessly - it almost felt like he wasn't truly gone I'm glad the series was left open-ended too. I always prefer a "And the story goes on..." kind of ending to something like this (though I wouldn't change a thing about the TV ending of the aforementioned Blake's 7...).

So today I finished my Jago and Litefoot re-listen. It was sad listening to this release. From the start, it is clear that this is "good bye" episode, not one of the "real" adventures. Many fond memories are shared and many old friends and characters come by and pay their respects. The story itself is pretty unimpressive, but that is not what this is about. I think it succeeds in it's intention and what it sets out to do- saying good bye. I have become very fond of Jago and Litefoot and this is a pair of characters and a range of stories I will dearly miss. Good bye, Jago and Litefoot. And may you forever live in our hearts.
