just some advice here. Not getting picked can mean everything from it not being the direction they are going for to it being similar to something in the main range.
That last one is key. If it's very similar to something coming out soon or even in recording it would be a disservice to both parties. Also, they say it's about writing style and even though I believe both Josh and Selim(if I misspelled I'm sorry!) both appear to have written off their original drafts it says in the competition it may go differently.
I even wondered if I shot myself in the foot as my submission was for a 9th Doctor fresh of regeneration and my other story featured Benny and Eleven. I can hem and haw but both my ideas were also very big ideas and I know they will both be longer when they are written out(The Benny story already exists in another form but this would have taken a very different direction)
The point I am making is don't get hung up on quality aspects.
And one other thing which could have made my main submission a pain. It's sort of a School reunion style vibe. My story was wrapped in a 4th and 7th Doctor mythos and was about the 9th Doctor. It was a great idea and I stand by it but as a short trip it's super open ended and als also could conceivably be dual licence.
I will post the submission here eventually and I encourage others to!
But bottom line... Don't think it wasn't good. I may have a unique mess of self deprecating humour and ego about my writing but I have never questioned my talent for ideas and structure(Although I tend to use too much exposition!)
Don't let this discourage you.
If I can write a Batwoman vignette into a Bill Potts story and have people still enjoy it as a Bill Potts story there's a lot of people who are just as good and better who write stuff even more accessible.

I had a very, very long think about the name and, ultimately, it should still be about Paul Spragg. This opportunity simply would not exist without him, so to that end... The Paul Spragg Recollection can now be found on its own thread. A place for writers and readers alike to be kept aware of ongoing developments and chat about entries they'd like to submit to the new anthology. Best wishes everyone and happy writing.

Guessing it's all done and dusted now.
This is the first year I've not had any feedback at all.
Oh well.
Congrats to the winner!
Right where's my pen... 2019 is calling

Hey, all! Allow me to present you my 2018 Paul Spragg submission: Negative Help (featuring the Tenth Doctor)! This couldn't have been done without listening to theotherjosh 's Forever Fallen and selimpensfiction 's Landbound over a dozen times, as well as reading their original entries and PDF scripts. That reminds me, if you're interested, why not also check out my opening excerpt (as originally submitted to Big Finish). By the way, allons-y!

Right where's my pen... 2019 is calling Yup - me either... but perhaps the popularity of the competition and the amount of time it consumes has gone up. That or my idea was too off the wall! Ho hum... as you say, there's always next year!
