Hello again. Well done to all those wordsmiths that submitted an entry to this year's writing opportunity.
This is my third year and I very nearly didn't enter. I'm glad I did, but feel my entries weren't really that good!
Having said that I managed to submit my usual Sixie story with an original companion who has an extraordinary ability.
My NuWho submission features my favourite pairing of the Tenth Doctor and Donna. I just love their friendship. I'm not sure my story really works but I shall finish it regardless.
Bonne chance à tous!

Bonne chance à tous! Hey I almost gave up entirely! I'm sure yours will be good. I DID figure out why they have their submission rules the way they do. It forces you to really streamline your ideas. My ninth Doctor tale was initially supposed to feature a girl in a hi tech wheelchair and the moment I brought in my favourite original companion the whole idea drastically changed.I Somehow a short story about the Doctor healing post regeneration worked better if he ran into aformer companion. And then I decided it would work even better if it was a companion who he had also helped in the past. Other than the Doctor being post DOTD and having mirror glass in his face it was not just different but I liked it way better than the original. I had another which was previously a short vignette that I took down from the one site it was on and was drastically rewriting it even more than the drastic rewrite I had planned. I also felt they both showed a good distillation of my ideas. I doubt I will win unless they are really gunning for female writers and either Nick gets excited about a ninth Doctor story or they like having a Benny story! But I think we should start a thread for completed stories after the winner is announced. I got very excited about mine and really want to write a story about the man who will one day be known as Breeg Paschendaele. And I also may rewrite and continue my Benny and eleven story for I really like it.

My niece submitted a story. I have not been allowed (by her) to read it so I know nothing about it. I wish her and everybody else who submitted the best of luck. Most of all, I just hope everybody enjoyed themselves with their stories. That's the real joy, isn't it?

I'd be more than happy to share only my best Short Trips that I've submitted, by posting both the Synopsis and Opening excerpt together, whilst drafting the full 5000-word story (with revisions).

Hi all,
First, good luck everyone!
I entered my submission pretty close to the deadline - just wondering if there was supposed to be an auto-reply email...

Hi all, First, good luck everyone! I entered my submission pretty close to the deadline - just wondering if there was supposed to be an auto-reply email... I received an auto-reply when I entered. What time did you submit? Uh oh. Well that's worrying... It was about 23:45. I double-checked everything. And I sent it to the right email... So I'm hoping it's fine...

Is there anyone else who applied pretty late? Maybe they just disabled the auto-replies as it was near the end of the cut-off time... *he says hopefully*

I didn’t make it, I was so busy this month I never got time to finish my pitch. Good luck to everyone else though!

I just realised I made a mistake, I refered to 1822 as being Victortian London, but Victoria didn't come to the throne until 1837. Can't believe I didn't notice it before.

With the three stories I have submitted over the years I have used the 4th, 3rd and 5th Doctors.
Has anyone only written for one Doctor? Or have you always used different ones?

I sent a quick message to ask, and it was confirmed. I felt a little bad for bothering them, but I finished my submission REALLY close to the deadline and was rushing the e-mail. So I was wondering if I did something wrong... (I only found out about this opportunity recently, so I was working on it right up to the deadline. )... Good luck
