So. Now they've all been released what do people think? A failed experiment or some worthwhile stories? Definitely worthwhile. While not all of them were my cup of tea, I though all were very well done and accomplished what they set out to do. Still finishing up The Human Frontier, and evening if it’s not my favourite of the range, I do think Nick’s work on it was really good. The best of the range was Blind Terror and Transference, with Cicero following up in third for me. But like I said, all are well done and a nice variety was achieved.

Loved Both ATA Girl's and Transference Shilling & Sixpence really enjoyable Blind Terror and Human Frontier I think are decent enough one offs. Jeramiah Bourne just didn't land for me. Cicero l refer you to my original post listen comment notthebigfinishforum.freeforums.net/thread/2292/cicero-full-series-released-2017?page=6So overall worthwhile effort but not unparaelled success Regards mark687

Finally done Human Frontier. Not that anyone asked, but here's where I landed on all the Originals:
Cicero - Absolutely fantastic. I was thrilled when the single episode ended up getting a full series, and thrilled with the series we ended up getting. Desperately want more, and am mildly annoyed that a second series doesn't seem to be forthcoming.
ATA Girl - Also excellent. Very glad we got a second series and would love to hear a third, but if this is where they call it quits, I'll be happy we got as much as we did.
Jeremiah Bourne in Time - Enjoyable enough but didn't blow me away. I'm fine with it being over.
Shilling & Sixpence - Enjoyed, but am fine with it being a one-off.
Blind Terror - Quite good and would be happy with more, but will be content with this one great release.
Transference - Fantastic, loved it all. Also quite content for it to be a one-off story.
The Human Frontier - Have to admit that the concept they announced for this just a little while ago - the idea of a sleeper ship that launched earlier arriving at a colony world centuries after a second ship launched and colonized....I really enjoyed the humanistic drama thoughts that conjured up in my head. So whether it's fair or not, I was let down by my expectations for the product. Independently of that, I thought it well made (acting, sound design, music, directing, all top notch), but the weird structural/chronological style really detracted from my enjoyment. Fine with it being only one release.

Wow. It was a bit off-putting that they almost immediately said there would be a series 2 while all the other originals languish, but this is already up for preorder? Wow.

Has any release ever got such a detailed sequel announcement so quickly after initial release before? It’s kinda hard to shake the feeling that the boss’ pet project is getting special treatment.
I’m just going to keep hoping for a Cicero series 2.

Yea i had no interest in the Human Frontier, but did buy all the other BF Originals to support original content. I loved Cicero and Sixpence and Shilling, i was hoping for more of those to come out. I guess not happening, although shock of shocks, Briggs gets green lit for more.
Shocking he has time to write another Human Frontier, with Jekyll and Hyde still waiting in the wings!

Madness there's still no follow up for Shilling & Sixpence but plenty for Cicero! Regards mark687 [Sorry for the challenge Mark] It's not madness if Cicero is the better seller and 1 additional 2-hour story surely couldn't be classified as plenty more. The Cicero pilot was produced before the Big Finish Originals range was conceived. I do agree with your intent about preferring a sequel to Shilling & Sixpence over Cicero. With any luck we'll eventually have both.

Regards mark687 Yes bless, I get that you greatly disapprove of Cicero's infidelity. That said, considering we're talking about a mostly fictitious story account, I wouldn't write him off as not being an interesting character to explore. Movies like Burn After Reading and Curse of the Golden Flower where the creative game plan was to focus on flawed personalities did help to heighten those entertainment experiences.
