Hello, I'm Mark Baumgarten and have been a Big Finish fan since Oh No, It Isn't. I then went from Benny to Sirens of Time because I've loved Doctor Who since 1978 when our public TV station got Doctor Who. Since then, I've dabbled in all of Big Finish except for Dark Shadows (which I will get to). I even had all The Tomorrow People CDs. I was introduced to this forum by ElaEG... Hi, Ela! I am the showrunner of a online radio show on Krypton Radio called MarkWHO42 which can also be found on iTunes and my website markwho42.net . We have interviewed several regulars at Big Finish like Katy Manning and Barnaby Edwards, and look forward to doing more with them soon. I haven't actually joined a forum since the old BBS back in the 80's so I thought if I'm going to start, do it on a forum where they discuss things I love. Doctor Who is my passion, but Big Finish is what I listen to when I drive my car, and I'm thankful for things like Blake's 7, Sherlock Holmes, and Sapphire and Steel to name a few. Well, I've rambled on for a while so I'll stop now. Hello! Welcome! The more the merrier, and all that! I look forward to seeing you around!

Hi, my name is Ed - I am Head admin on Planet Mondas and write their Big Finish reviews. Love all aspects of Big Finish - currently getting my head around Dark Shadows so any advice on "must listen" releases are much appreciated.

Are you familiar with the show at all? Easier to narrow down after knowing those answers. Generally the most popular answers are Bloodlust - a stunning series - and House By The Sea. Like Bloodlust it starts with a new person (people in Bloodlust's case) to town and a newbie learns what they need to at the same time as the characters. Colin Baker is sensational.

Nice - you're certainly well aquainted with Quentin Collins then. His story after Skin Walkers follows in Blood Dance, London's Burning and The Creeping Fog. If you want more of Tony and Cassandra from Bride and Devil Cat - Death Mask was their first re-introduction on audio then Voodoo Amulet and The Last Stop. House By The Sea really is wonderful - it's a stunning story. All the stories on the Audio Book range from 45-50 (Panic-And Red All Over) feature what happens next for certain characters in Bloodlust so if you really like that series, it's almost a follow up mini-series.

Hello , my name is Benjamin and I'm a French law student and a Big Finish fan ( even if these days addict seems to be a more accurate word) . My first audio was Storm Warning , and by first I mean first ever , Big Finish made me discover this format. I've now listened to many ranges ( Sherlock Holmes , Dark Shadows and The Confession of Dorian Gray are three favourites of mine) , and thanks to Big Finish The Sixth and The Eighth Doctors became my Doctors.
I've recently started to write reviews of the most recent realeases on a blog. Unfortunately I'm wrting them in french , so I'll try and translate them here. And as I'm currently writing a review for The Prisoner Volume 1 , I can't conclude with another sentence than : "Be seeing you !".

... ( Sherlock Holmes , Dark Shadows and The Confession of Dorian Gray are three favourites of mine)... Welcome to the forum . Why not join us in the Dorian Gray board where we are having a Group relisten (in release order), starting with Series 1. We have only had two stories so far, and your participation is encouraged . Cheers Tony

I return under a new name.
Thank you to those who have taken the time to start this forum.
Myself, I’ve been following Doctor Who since Sarah Jane’s introduction. Have a near complete set of the main Doctor Who range and companion chronicles; everything Jago & Litefoot.
Hopefully Big Finish realise how lucky they are to have such a community following their products. I was a little upset they closed their own forum. It used to be a one stop shop. Read the news then see what others think on the forum. Surely they could have restricted it to only those who had at least paid for four products or something like that?

Hello, all. I'm Dan. I was an infrequent poster on the BF forum - so infrequent I can't remember which name I used - brought here by my love of the 'Dark Shadows' audios (currently revisiting the ones I've had for years and catching up on the more recent ones in preparation for the 50th anniversary, while also viewing the original series in order and reading Lara Parker's novels). Also a massive fan of 'Jago & Litefoot' (though I need to get caught up on that series), and 'The Omega Factor'. I'm a big fan of the more ghostly and mysterious stuff, as a writer of ghost stories in print and in audio (for Jim French's Imagination Theatre), as well as an ardent reader, viewer and listener of the genre.

Welcome lurkerintheshadows, glad to have you aboard. Have you listened to any of the Dorian Gray or Carnacki ranges? They are definitely ghostly and mysterious. Oh, and they're very good . Cheers Tony

Thank you! I've encountered Mr Gray via his Dark Shadows cameo, and I know Carnacki of old, via the short stories and Donald Pleasence's appearance in the role in 'The Rivals of Sherlock Holmes' TV series. I'm interested in re-acquainting myself with both gentlemen at some future point. :-)

Hi. Welcome to our forum! You should join us for our Dark Shadows listen throughs. Right now were are doing Quentin audios. And here's another recommendation for the Dorian Gray range. It's outstanding and sounds right up your alley.

Have you read the Dreams of the Dark novel for Dark Shadows? You mention Lara Parker's novels. For ghostly and mysterious the Scariest Audios thread is worth a look and includes stories from a variety of ranges (even Blake's 7 is one there!).

Thanks, all. Nice to be made so welcome. I'll certainly be checking out the threads mentioned, and will look at joining the DS listen throughs once I've finished this current listen through of the entire run (I'm on 'Bloodlust' at the moment). jbmasta, I have indeed read 'Dreams of the Dark', and it's a pity the series didn't continue beyond that title. Though you may already know the proposed follow-up is available as a free download on Stephen Mark Rainey's site; www.stephenmarkrainey.com/dslabyrinth.htm (For completeness' sake I really should also read 'Hawkes Harbor' by S.E. Hinton, which was originally written for the Harper Collins DS range, then had the character names changed when the series was cancelled.)

Hello my name is Bill, I had just joined the Big Finish forum before it was closed I'm glad to see a new forum set up to continue the fun conversations about Doctor Who, Big Finish, and other things. Some Facts about myself: I'm in collage studding to be a social worker, my favorite doctor is the 8th and my favorite big finish release is the companion chronicle Solitaire (I hope David Balie comes back to voice the celestial toymaker). I'm not the best at spelling and grammar so if their is any confusion about my posts, let me know and I will try and clarify. See you on the forum.
