Sounds a real barrel of laughs lol 50 First Dates didn't have the happiest of endings. Never seen it.

Did you purposely leave seeing GD until the actual 2nd February date of the North American custom/festival when the tradition supposedly takes place? Did it resonate more with you saving it for the day? Sky movie channel got in on the act again, listing nothing but GD on a continual loop, although they've been doing it for years now, I'm surprised the gag's still going! This is how I discovered the film, it must be like nearly 20 years ago, but I had Groundhog Day on the TV pretty much constantly for days on end, I only properly watched it once or twice, the rest of the time it was moving wallpaper, but perfect as that, as it didn't matter at what point I dipped into or out of the story, it all made sense, and it made the whole thing very experiential.

50 First Dates didn't have the happiest of endings. Never seen it. Adam Sandler's character falls for a girl. So far so romcom. Then the next morning after they've spent the night together he finds out she can't retain short term memories a short a result of an accident she was in, and so doesn't remember the previous day, or any day since the accident. He has make her fall in love with him every day, her being unaware of her short term amnesia.

Anyone else think they should do a sequel to Groundhog Day ... taking the central premise but doing something different with it? Stargate already did it, and did it well. There is no need to do it yet again.
