Well, I was a bit uncertain about this one, having no history with this show. I initially held off on ordering, but in the end I did so.
Listening the last few days, I found these audios very good. Having a familiar voice with Hex (err, Mr. Olivier), on board I think did help, but the other characters were well defined and by the end of the set I was rather ready for more... which I will be less hesitant to buy when they come around.

Having a very hard time getting into this box set (and not because of the packaging) the first story was pretty dull with some very pedestrian acting and so far the second story is leaving me cold with it's painfully 'right on' message that woman are great and men are sexist pigs. I know that inequality is real and I have nothing against a bit of subtext but here it is so unsubtle as to take me right out of the story.

I've finished the second story and am happier than ever I bought this set. I thought it was an absolutely great story by Ian Potter with some fantastic touches, one of them being some of what I consider some particularly thoughtful humor. If there was anything wrong with the story, it went right past me for being too busy enjoying it. I give it five actual stars, no rounding up to five.

ONE man. & it is true to the character in the tv show. This is the best TV adaptation that BF have done so far.

And where this sexist pig is by the end of the box set is one of the more interesting things about the whole thing.

One of our cops is missing, which was excellent and a good intro to the characters. 8 out of 10.

Star Cops 1.2. Tranquility and other illusions.
An excellent 2nd episode for what is shaping up to be one of the best BF releases of the year. I like the mix of police investigation and background politics, with flashes of action at key bits of the stories.
8 out of 10, and I'm glad BF have launched a series that is a bit different.

Star Cops 1.3. Lockdown.
There is a real Anglo-Indian flavour to this series and it works very well. This was a side step out of the main arc but very good indeed.
Another 8 out of 10.

On episode 2 and enjoying it so far. Devis comes across like an unreconstructed Gene Hunt and is getting closer to being a caricature than a character. Hopefully this develops and changes as the series goes on. was he like this on the TV show, although back in the 80s such things maybe wouldn't have been as much of an issue.
