I admit I was a very late starter to The Omega Factor, but after recently listening to Louise's reading of the original series episode novelization and the whole of Series 1 I actually found myself enjoying a genre that really hadn't interested me that much before. It's therefore a real pity that sales have led to the mothballing of the range just as I start getting in to it, and I will quietly hope that Big Finish can bring it back in some other format one day that works for all concerned. I have recently moved away from Who...am only on the second episode of this though i loved the tv series,It’s excellent!I would recommend Dark shadows too so different from Who especially Bloodlust am enjoying both now immensely

Sad this is finishing..... but for me the high of series 1 spooky scary and a breath of fresh air, was then spoilt by watering down of the scary aspect, too many soap opera and relationship elements which changed its appeal. For me at least. The same things that have delayed me buying series 2 & 3 (yet). Really enjoyed the audio reading of the novelisation and series 1. I will probably go for Spiders Web next as it has Tom Crane and is set within the original televised series. Having watched the series regularly since it came out on DVD (and remembering it first time round) I would have been more switched on if they had recast James Hazeldine and picked up from where the planned second series would have taken us (it was always set up for a follow on that never got the commission). Still undecided whether the exposition of Morag's back story was the right way to go in series 1. Demystification and scientific rationale undermine the paranormal appeal of the show.

I will listen but I do try not to form judgements and avoid hype which helps even with tv shows I avoid spoilers as much as I can and have become quite expert at being ignorant .So I have no idea where the series ends up lol.It makes listening a lot more fun.

That's the best way to go. I don't read the synopses for these, as it goes against the mystery and suspense element. I will get to listen to the series 2 & 3 Audio plays eventually as they deserve support though, but it's a pity they haven't taken off as well as expected - too long between series 1 & 2 to my mind. I got the first two releases in 2014/2015 signed by Louise Jameson then the range went on hold. Much has been said of the proto X-Files concept of the original series. I wonder how much is coincidence or genuinely a case of inspiring the latter?

I remember the original run and it was quite chilling to watch and then when the X files came along and thought this is so similar,if the X Files hadn’t also like TWIN PEAKS got lost up its own ass lol. i know Omega series 1 audio I will listen to again so that’s already in its favour unlike Twin Peaks revival which I thought oh man this is a complete struggle but soldiered on regardless when I should have just binned it ...X Files is a great show if you toss aside the mythology and just watch it as great telly.

cancelled... bugger-all! Now I bought the titles and listened to them, but I guess that wasn't enough. I guess I should have been out on the street hawking them if I wanted them to stay in production.

Unfortunately in recent BF podcasts it was revealed that The Omega Factor has been cancelled. This saddens me to no end. The first set was one of my favorite titles released in 2015. I love this series. I will miss it greatly.

I am not someone who usually gets drawn into the sound, but I do with this series. It's amazing.

I am considering buying this series but given it is cancelled, can anyone (in the least spoilery way) tell me if season three ends with tons of unresolved plot threads? Thanks.

Just listened to the extras disc for series 3. Ironic now, with the benefit of hindsight, to hear David Richardson talking about how there will definitely be a 4rth series.
