Well, if we are to believe Gomez herself, she has already recorded 3 or 4 hours as Missy, so it might be a little premature to start talking about farewell gestures. And doing the recordings isn't distancing herself from the role, its pulling the role closer.
We don't know, though. She might be doing a final lap for the fans and then move on to something else before reprising the role across a couple of releases or box set. We don't know, but you don't use that exposure for nothing.
No we don't know so we have to use her actions as a guide. I'd say her actions mean she isn't looking to put distance between herself and the character. If she were distancing herself she would not have gone into the studio to record work as Missy. I would also say you are making a huge leap based on absolutely nothing at all.

You don't use that exposure and not try to have a wide range of opportunties afterwards, especially if your in Michelle Gomez's position as an older and by TV/film standards less conventionally attractive actress. But I'm not her, obviously, so I can't speak for her, but given her interactions and how taken she's been with fandom, it's not above possibility she might felt indebted to take another turn before departing. But, hey, neither of us are Michelle Gomez. My word ain't law and the only who can truly knows is Michelle Gomez, but it doesn't hurt to speculate and seems like a logical leap for an actress in her position

I think I get that and not to be argumentative but not knowing someone all one can do is speculate upon someone's words or actions. This distancing herself line you have come up just strikes me as ignoring the things we know she has already done to go in a totally unsubstantiated direction. But whatever. As you say, neither of us can be sure either way.

Which is what I said before, so I feel we're kind of at cross purposes here. Neither of us is Michelle Gomez
She isn't in the position of other revival Who alumni. A sitcom is quite different to be established as a dramatic actress as well. As I said, she's an older actress with more but narrower opportunities then her younger counterparts since she's taken on the role of Missy. She's not in the position of Arthur Darvill or Karen Gillian to headline their own American show or feature in a major blockbuster. I'm not saying there aren't opportunities out there locally, as I understand, British TV and film is somewhat better on this issue, but you don't want to be defined by one thing and take the opportunities that you can get. I'm not Michelle Gomez, can't speak for her, but these are moves other actors in her position take quite frequently in response to exposure like this.

Wild and crazy Missy Box Set idea:
Episode 1 with Dreyfus, 2 with Beevers, 3 with Macqueen, 4 with Jacobi. Some big overarching masterplan that has Missy using her past selves as pawns.

Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeessssssssssss! With Missy not letting her past selves in on her own identity, leaving them to think they'll get the upper hand, adding to her frustration with the Simm Master.

We don't know how extensive Gomez's involvement will be with Big Finish, though. She's in an American show and she'll want to distance herself from Missy. She's talked about how indebted she's felt to the show and how much she loves fandom, so it might an extended farewell gesture. We can't know that for sure. She hasn't just done Big Finish either, she recorded some stuff for the upcoming Doctor Who mobile game too.

Posted a bit above on this page and a bit below on the previous page, as well about this and stated very much the same As I also said, I don't think there's harm in speculating, particularly given how actors tend to move on from roles like this (see more above), but I'm not Michelle Gomez.

Anyway: blanket statement: none of us know what Michelle Gomez's plans are or how many future releases she'll be in. We could be looking at a few stories or stories for years. But, we don't know. Mine is not the definitive opinion on the topic.

Mine is not the definitive opinion on the topic. But it is the only one being advanced with a total lack of supporting evidence.

So, hypothetically speaking, which format would you like Capaldi's first set of Bf adventures to take? a 10DA trilogy of stand alone adventures with existing companions? A run of two or three boxsets making up a 12DA series? Or a Dark Eyes/Doom Coalition style narrative arc?
(personally I'd vote for a 12Da series, 1.A with just Bill, 1.B with the duo joined by Nardole)

I think it's way too soon to be speculating on any future full-cast New Series Doctors stories, but I would be surprised if that any such future stories didn't continue with the format established by the 10DAs.

I know Jenna Coleman is a good actress, but I can’t stand Clara as a character so either Big Finish take her and give her some consistent character or leave her be.

I don't mind Clara, I get why she might be a bit insufferable for some, but personally, I like her. However, I agree 12 needs another companion, perhaps between Dark Water and Last Christmas, or at some point during the first half of series 9, with Clara joining them from time to time. There are other gaps after Clara and after River (although Extremis makes it sound as if Missy's execution was short after Darillium, and Nardole is with him after that). Maybe even another companion in St Luke's University. A company of friends type of release with his various other media companions would also be great, with Hattie Munroe, Benny, the Collins and the Yow siblings. That'd be awesome, although this might better fit in the 'Things we'd like to see...' thread XD

I just listened to Rhythm of Destruction BBC audio. Dan Starkey was terrific at bringing all the colorful characters to life. If there's ever a 12th Doctor Chronicles, or short trip, etc. he would be great in it. Good narrator, versatile actor, and his Capaldi was spot on.

I imagine the Twelfth Doctor Chronicles are imminent, and will probably have Perkins and Journey Blue or something like that.
I don’t think we’ll see Capaldi until maybe 2020 at the possible earliest. Definitely not until Jodie is established and firmly the Doctor, not the new Doctor or the female Doctor. And obviously when Capaldi feels like it’s the right time to step back into the shoes of Twelve, which could even be years away, it just depends what future projects he’s working on and obviously spending more time with his family as he had wished to. Like we’ve not even got Matt Smith on board yet so Twelve might be a while off.
Though when he does turn up, I hope the Twelfth Doctor Adventures Volume 1 co-star Matt Lucas and Nardole gets a proper run as the single Companion because Clara has had more than enough airtime and Bill’s was short but sweet. Obviously I’m not opposed to them coming back later, but I think Nardole is the priority.

I personally love the sound of The Twelfth Doctor Chronicles, as a start. If not, some Short Trips could also work. Don't mind either because Peter Capaldi's my favourite New Series incarnation behind David Tennant.
