Something of a companion to the Devil's Advocate thread, what stories do you enjoy that don't have a particularly good reputation?

Near flawless in my eyes apart from the BOOM scene
Boom Town (I just wish the Doctor had held her stare)
Victory of the Daleks until the Teletubby Daleks turn up
Kill the Moon 1st EP that pitches the 12th/Clara Dynamic right.

Not a guilty pleasure - Warriors of the Deep Don't even feel the slightest bit guilty Going by the 2014 DWM poll (the only guide I have to good/bad reputations) also: The Monster of Peladon (brilliant story, love it to bits!) The Web Planet (never understood to lack of love for this one) Arc of Infinity (had no idea that it wasn't popular - I really don't understand that) Daleks in Manhattan/ Evolution of the Daleks (criminally under-rated)

I came here to write Timelash with an exclamation mark and I see I no longer have to. Cheers, Chips.

I don't mean to be that guy, but I don't have guilty pleasures - if I like it, I like it. In the spirit of the thread though.....yeah, I've always liked Timelash too. As I've said a billion times give me crap with potential and a bit of fun over competent uninspired stuff anyday.

As I made clear on the other thread, I unashamedly love The Dominators. Its got the two most useless villains in the universe invading a planet full of the most useless good guys in the world, and still failing.
I also enjoy Hell Bent. We finally get to see Gallifrey return, and we see what happens when you push the Doctor to far.

I love all Who, even the worst bits of it. It is all a guilt-free pleasure to me.

While I think the latter could have been done better, I thought the Gallifrey stuff at the beginning was great. Basically, until it turned out to be Clara's fifth goodbye story, I was loving it.

For me it has to be Colony in Space, though its only latterly i have found that it is not so highly rated by all.
It has a good story and a stronger narrative than its companion from the Master Tin Set (The Time Monster). Made for an excellent Target novelisation too.
And it could be set in the Blakes 7 universe - swap the Master for Servalan and the Mining Corp heavies for Federation thugs. All that's missing is Blake, Avon, Cally and Villa beaming down instead of the Doctor and Jo....

I don't seem to have heard very many kind words for them, but I like Four to Doomsday, Time-Flight, The King's Demons, and Ghost Light at least as much as most stories.
I also like Kill the Moon except that science buffs and teachers probably have nightmares about it. It's actually a really neat premise and I think all it really needs to iron out the wrinkled science is about a 30 second minute cameo of some aliens sightseers who do a little planetary stabilization so they can enjoy an extremely rare spectacle without also witnessing the extinction of Homo sapiens.

Delta and the Bannermen is in my top 20 stories. It's just so wild and insane.

The Rings of Akhaten, mostly for Eleven's monologue towards the end - it totally makes the episode for me. Kill the Moon, too - I have problems with the Moon Egg for sure, but I feel like it has a lot of good things going for it.

Looking on ********** (using the useful filter tool) it appears second off bottom for the televised Pertwee stories. I confess to liking all stories of this era, but some of my favourites are only mid placed whilst i would place Colony mid way of any Third Doctor ranking of my own. Not that it matters really - we are all biased to our own eras of the programme. Different tastes. https://the**********.com/Overview/?doctor=3rd%20Doctor

Honestly don’t understand the hate for hell bent at all even if its widely regarded as bad. I just think its a great story - its no heaven sent. But its still great with some lovely character moments.

There’s a horror movie called Alien? That’s really offensive. No wonder everyone keeps invading you.

Underworld: so many brilliant concepts and people always go on about the rubbish CSO. And the shortness of the episodes. And the...
It's got some great model work, an excellent core idea (see what I did there?), the subplot of the Doctor coming up against a people who are the reason for the Time Lords non-interventionist policy, the linking in of Greek mythology (I love it when Who tweaks somebody else's story) and a cracking performance by Louise Jameson.
