As I posted earlier, its an extremely good Doctor/Companion chemistry. 3 Very good stories and 1 that subverts expectations but how well it does I don't think can be judged until part 2s release next month. Regards mark687 So it sounds like I should listen to parts 1 through 3 and hold off on part 4 until the second volume arrives next month?

One thing that you’ll see Andrew Smith talk about is how much it pained him to give her that rank but he decided that above all else he was going to maintain historical accuracy rather than paint over the cracks and pretend that it didn’t happen. I for one am glad he did, because I wasn’t really aware of it until it was attached to Ann and it’s quite honestly shocking that that used to happen and that it was really not that long ago.

We can't, no matter what, ignore history. No matter how unpleasant that history may be or how enlightened we think ourselves to now be.

Oy...this often happens when I listen to an episode when I can't sleep, but remain lying in bed to listen: I have little idea of what happened in the first ep other than that Tom was in top form (as just about always),
picked up a new companion, there was running about, and Sinestrans are naughty. Maybe. At least 3 of those are true.

Listen to the last 10 minutes again.

The ending confused me at first, I had to look up *that* character's name on the Doctor Who Wiki... even though I've seen (a recon of) the relevant episode.. maybe I'm not a big enough nerd for this sometimes haha

Finished off this set this morning. Really very good stuff -- Jane Slavin is excellent as Anne. She fits into the role as if she's been here for years.
I'm really looking forward to giving this a re-listen when 8B comes out!

As someone who isn't really familiar with the story that The False Guardian references, I was a little lost on the cliffhanger. Loved all four stories regardless. Could someone PM me what exactly happened? Thanks!

The Enchantress of Numbers by Simon Bernard & Paul Morris. Well, that was really rather outstanding, wasn't it? In fact, it was just about a perfect story. I'm amazed Bernard & Morris have not written more for the 4th Doctor as I think they are the perfect writers for him. If there were twin love children of Robert Holmes & Philip Hinchcliffe, it would be Simon Bernard & Paul Morris. More from them please.
