Are we thinking after the next two boxsets they will finally start having storys set after death in heaven? I imagine they had already planned theses four boxsets before they got the 12th Doctor licence but theres no reason not too progress further along now? I've been operating under the assumption that the UNIT box sets are simply set in the year that they're released in the real world. They don't feature the Doctor, and the BBC doesn't have sole proprietorship over the calendar years 2013-17, so I don't see any reason why the 12th Doctor license situation (past or current legal status) should have any bearing.

While the UNIT stuff is on my list of stuff to get so yes I know this is just unjust moaning I do really enjoy the “breaking up”/ “experimental” boxsets as to me a monotony of 4 linked stories then another then another can be kinda same-y (know I do hope we get a whole original monsters boxset soon to also help with that)

If I'm not mistaken, I think I remember hearing and/or reading somewhere that they were working on two double-length audios, and not just a single two-parter and two standalones.

You're not mistaken, that's what David Richardson said at the end of the behind-the-scenes disc on Cyber-Reality. But that was presumably recorded quite some time ago.

I know they've been talking about experimenting with the formats.

Seeing as UNIT feature in the Lady Christina set, do you think the second double length audio for this UNIT boxset was originally a version of that story? With Big Finish later deciding to expand it into a full four disc release and give Lady Christina her own series rather than being a guest character in someone else’s series? I quite like the symmetry of a UNIT boxset set with two double disc stories. One featuring a Classic series monster and the other featuring a New series monster with an extra incentive of a returning one off companion of the Doctor (to counter act the fact that the new series monster isn’t as well regarded as the classis series monster is!)

I don’t suppose you can give any hint as to what the second story was going to be? I sense this is one of those "You'll have to wait and see" situations - sorry!

Open the Box looks like the character exploring drama the range needs at this point. With Roy Gill writing I'm anticipating a folklore angle.

Well Cyber-Reality is explicitly set before Dark Water/Death in Heaven, so presumably the rest have been too. Apparently they’re set after Day of the Doctor too but I’ve heard there’s contradictions between boxsets on that front. I just imagine that they’re all set between late 2013 and late 2014, but UNIT dating is a funn thing.

Can't wait hear this, I've been so impressed with the quality of the writing & performances of this amazing spin off, captured the old spirit of UNIT with a modern twist.
