Very exciting news! Two great stories but so are the missing stories generally. Fate left us 'The Dominators' and took so much of quality.
I'm always ready for a Cyberstory (far more scary than Daleks imo, sorry stevo!) and I think the Second/Polly/Ben/Jamie team is exceptionally good and I'd like all their stories done yesterday, please! (But do get the Companions' faces right.)
Even more exciting because while I'lll be queuing up to buy these new releases, they probably wouldn't be at the very top of most 'must animate NOW' lists - at a guess, would that be 'Evil of the Daleks' and 'Fury From The Deep'?? (Personally I want 'The Abominable Snowmen' please because I've been waiting to see it since 1975 when I read the book!)
So if they are animating these two, presumably they intend/hope to animate all the missing stories eventuallly and are saving some of the most popular ones in the same way the classic DVD range held on to a few 'headline' titles until the very end.
The linked article was interesting in that he had at least looked at 'The Crusade' and talks about why it would be difficult to do on technical grounds - essentially because the BBC made costume drama too well! with many speaking characters and costume changes for the animators to cope with. I have long wondered if we will ever get a release of this story, the only 50% surviving story not to get a proper release. Some people might have sensitivities about it these days, but I think it's a terrific and very even-handed 'political' historical which paints both sides as pretty cynical and ruthless within their codes of knightly honour. And with a superb cast. But at least it was considered, so perhaps there is hope that one day even the obscure old Hartnell historicals (which I love) will all come back to life too.

Curiously noble as well. Both Saladin and Richard don't enjoy the killing in the way that a man like El-Akir does. The former spends quite some time deciding what is to be done with his political prisoners. I also like how we get to see how families like Haroun's are affected by the Crusades. It's hard not to feel for a man who's lost his wife, son and his other daughter, whose only goal now is to revenge himself upon the emir. And that cliffhanger for the third episode, "The Wheel of Fortune," remains one to remember. I could go on and on -- and I think I have done -- about this story, it's one of my absolute favourites. Really well-written and it's an absolute tragedy we're missing half of it.

Hello again.
These animations are a good idea. It is the only way we have to obtain some visual idea of these lost Sixties stories.
However, my choices would have to be Fury from the Deep and Evil of the Daleks. I still remember the frisson of listening to Evil on audio. "Do not feed the flying pests..."
Can we borrow a Dalek to scare the ice cream stealing seagulls please? I'll just ask Davros...

Why? Who cares what he thinks? There is only one form of life that matters - Dalek life!

Hello again.
Dear Supreme Dalek,
Please may we borrow one of your superb Daleks to control the flying pests in our town. Thank you for considering our request.
Yours sincerely, St. Ives Town Council
