All these dangling plot threads... what with Windcliff and Thirteen and other mystery sets announced all at once, it really feels like BF have sort of got the next few years mapped out, as far as Dark Shadows content is concerned, and are seeding stuff early to come back to later. Given how intricately plotted-out Bloodline was, I can’t imagine they don’t have plans for the next while already laid out! Again, spreadsheets. And a series bible. And a floorplan. It's slightly terrifying. Which I suppose is kind of appropriate.

As regards the somewhat enigmatic final scene, based on the cast list, we're hearing Millicent Collins. I think what has happened is this: Willie ends up sent back some time before 1840, after Millicent has signed everything over to Daniel. Willie ends up working for Daniel. Daniel has seemingly become quite cruel or domineering over Millicent, and he has had Willie burn her books. Willie saves some of the books, including Robinson Crusoe, which he recalls having special value to Millicent, and hides them under her floorboard. He leaves her the letter to clue her in to their whereabouts, and arranges to have it sent to her if/when he leaves. Why that's a post-credits scene I'm not sure. Perhaps it's teasing something forthcoming? The period where Daniel Collins was patriarch was never depicted on the show, only his childhood and final days. Maybe that'll be the era for the unknown forthcoming boxset?

I loved Charity and Cyrus talking together, comparing notes on their mental hitchhikers. Welcome to the forum, Eiphel! I'm glad someone else noticed this since I forgot to mention it previously. I thought that scene was quite wonderful not only for the appropriateness of that, but also because it was just really great to hear Nancy Barrett opposite Christopher Pennock again. That certainly stirred up some memorable moments from the OS.

I haven't written anything about the conclusion of "Bloodline" because, quite frankly, it left me speechless. Just a bravura performance by all -- cast, crew, and writers. It distilled so many themes and elements of DS into a new era of storytelling. The coda with Barnabas and Julia, and Tom and Jackie, was spellbinding. And a special hat tip to David Darlington, who brilliantly pulled it off -- along with many of the other audio marvels of the series. Cheers, ladies and gentlemen. I can't wait to see (hear) what's next up your sleeve.

It's slightly terrifying. Which I suppose is kind of appropriate. From what I recall, we're finally finding out about the bathrooms at Windcliff. I don't think Collinwood ever had bathrooms (definitely not the Old House and frankly I don't know if they could have gotten an episode where Vicki becomes familiar with chamberpots around the censors). I look forward to whatever adventures the Big Finish team has plotted out.

Anyone after a clean version of the Bloodline Theme can find it on the soundcloud page here. And the slow version used in a couple of episodes is here.

By the way, regarding the Millicent coda, Joe's basically covered this in a facebook group post elsewhere, but I thought I'd share my experience here. {Spoiler}Eiphel’s basically correct about the story arc we had for Willie and Millicent. There were quite a few scenes and nice moments we had written for that storyline, including my “hero” moment where it’s revealed that Willie didn’t burn all her books because he knew it would destroy her, and had created a hiding place for some treasured ones instead.
Sadly, it became obvious we weren’t going to be able to get John Karlen into studio, so the storyline was cut down and that scene had to go entirely. I was lamenting its loss, so Joe suggested I try writing a wrap-up of the story for Nancy Barrett to do solo.
I assumed it’d end up being a bonus SoundCloud clip or something. Finding it at the end of 13 took me totally by surprise, but I’m glad it made it out there as part of the series.
Willie Loomis: who’d have thought he was once a petty thief, eh?

Oh, I hope that storyline sees the light of day as a narrated reading or something at some point. It sounds really bittersweet (and as I mentioned above, it's a period we've not really seen before). I thought the story content of the scene was quite clear, I was only really thrown a bit by why it was appearing as a post credit sequence - But that makes perfect sense.

I loved it. Millicent and Willie are probably two of the sweetest characters in DS history, and Millicent may be one of the most tragic. This scene bringing them together for a moment in time was pure magic and it worked really well as a coda. It was truly “all the feels.” Nicely done.

Thinking a bit more about my favorite stuff with Willie that truly showed him to be not only kind and sweet, but protective and brave....his unrequited love for Maggie, and the lengths he went to protecting her from Barnabas' wrath, even when subjected to the most horrible beatings. And he would have died for her on more than one occasion, including in Kingdom of the Dead. The way he tried to protect Carolyn in House of Dark Shadows...that scene where she's slumped against a wall staring blankly with a horrific gash on her neck (they had gotten much more graphic than the two neat, small holes of the TV Series)...and there's poor Willie dabbing this gaping wound with a handkerchief, trying to stop the blood...that poor guy.
So, this kindness he shows to fragile, broken Millicent is so typical of the true Willie Loomis...con-man, thug, thief, and prince among men.

Listening to this for a second time, I love it even more. I can’t say that I’ve always been the biggest Dark Shadows, but it is quickly becoming my most anticipated series from Big Finish. Windcliff truly can’t come soon enough.

Loving all the bits and pieces that Big Finish has been tweeting about- lots of little references to places and names from the original show. The Bloodline team clearly loves the show and did way beyond the usual research. Including the following: Harry Jones- taxi driver mentioned in DS episode one who drives around Amy and Vivian in Bloodline.
Greenfield Inn- mentioned in 1795, 1969, 1970 parallel time. Bloodline it's where Vivian initially planned to stay and where Amy's bachelorette party was.
Librarian Annie Spence- helps Dr. Woodward identify a late 18th century doll on the original series and is gossiped about in Bloodline.
Ambulance technician Jerry Gerse- friend of Joe in the original series and planned to split the cost of a fishing boat with him.
The Burke Devlin Special
Even the tune Amy is humming is based off the original show!

Been collecting Big Finish's Dark Shadows audio books since the beginning. The latest entry has everything and everybody thrown into it but the kitchen sink. The best one yet!! I want to thank everyone who had anything to do with this audiobook. No spoilers but the end when a twist happens I busted out crying but it was so unexpected and ........Just buy it you will not regret it. I had one issue, why Barbara Steele was not used at Dr. Julia Hoffman but at the end I found out. Score 100 out of 10

Windcliff truly can’t come soon enough. Listened to Bloodline many many times and its now a firm favourite in my listening and this time around i got to experience (unlike Bloodlust) episodically as released which was fanatastic. To complete my Dark Shadows listening now i have only A Collinwood Christmas and Dress Me in Dark Dreams and i will feel complete 😎

why Barbara Steele was not used at Dr. Julia Hoffman Thanks for sharing your thoughts. It's always fun to read what a fellow fan thinks, especially when it's a glowing review and we both totally agree. Anyway, I believe I remember reading someone somewhere that using 90s Dark Shadows characters in those roles would be a licensing nightmare. Big Finish has all the rights to continue the original 1960s/1970s DS, with using the original actors in their respective roles, but not the other DS efforts. Barbara Steele did lead her talents in The Night Whispers, and I'd love to hear more from her someday.

Just a quick note re Barnabas at the end... {Spoiler} Julia's consciousness had been transferred into a different body so Lilith was able to just transfer her back. Barnabas's original body had been destroyed so she couldn't do that. She creates a new Jonathan Frid body "there, in the shadows" and transfers his consciousness into that. That leaves the Andrew Collins body as an empty shell "he's still breathing" which Barnabas calls Bramwell. Sorry if it's not clear, obviously there's a lot going on at the end. Thank you for this! I was worried about PT Bramwell, thinking that somehow he had been pulled over into the main timeline. This is most reassuring.

Just started this after a relisten to Bloodlust. It's a bit more OTT in presentation, especially Georgina Strawson's character, but will be interesting to see where it goes.
