Could someone kindly share a link for this Barnabas trailer? All I seem to be able to find with Google is the proposal trailer with David and Amy.

Thanks for the links! Oh dear... Andy Coleman in good form but I didn't buy it for two seconds that I was hearing Julia Hoffman. I hope newt5996 is right that maybe it isn't?

Yeah it doesn't sound like Julia at all, like there isn't even an attempt to reflect the inflections of Grayson Hall like Colin Baker's character from the main range and Andrew Collins' Barnabas reflect Humbert Astredo and Jonathan Frid respectively.

If they have recast Julia, and yes...I do hope they have...what I hope we don't hear is someone trying to mimic Grayson Hall's specific quirks & delivery style. Give me a character everyone refers to as Julia Hoffman that is written in the style of which we expect Hoffman to act but please give us someone who makes the character her own.

Having now listened to that trailer, all I can say is uh.....well, it sounds vaguely like Grayson hall, but not especially close, and also just sounded incredibly stilted and forced. I'm hoping that turns out to not be Julia...

To be fair, this potential Julia person claims not to know who she is. Maybe that's why she's not acting too much Julia. Relisten to House of Despair- Andrew Collins didn't have all the Barnabas cadence there, even after Angelique put Barnabas into his body. He was playing a confused, not confident person, which isn't Barnabas. In the later audios, where he had adjusted to his new body, we got more of the Barnabas cadence. I almost wonder if this is she Julia or not thing is just a red herring. Remember the trailers for Bloodlust that basically every character had one that made them sound guilty? Some people thought that Angelique might be guilty because she sounded "too French" initially and might not be herself? As the story unfolded, we started finding out characters were innocent. Selfishly, I'd love to have more stories with Julia in them and knowing Big Finish, they would ensure the actor has enough of Hall's delivery baked in (as previous Big Finish actors have done for Julia/ Countess Natalie Dupres, and Magda).

Julie Newmar HUGE casting. Wouldn't have guessed it in a million years. She fits perfectly and anyone who's heard her on the two animated Batman '66 movies from the past few years can vouch that she sounds great.

I am so sorry, I'm going through such personal s*** right now that I pray it doesn't dampen my expressions of enthusiasm for the amazing, much-awaited event Bloodline, but it probably already has. If I seem to be very prosaic in my responses, never mind me - it doesn't mean I'm not already excited and appreciative beyond words. Bloodline might be just what I need to pull me out of my troubles awhile, too, for which I will be eternally grateful.
Julie Newmar! I am speechless. I don't even know what to think of that but obviously it goes to show once again just how devoted the people involved with Dark Shadows are to giving us something very special, and that's pretty moving. Thanks for that!

Thanks for that! A) I hear you. Extremely rough patch myself. I hope you come out of it soon. B) Julie Newmar! Of all the names I imagined that is one person I never, ever would have thought of. Hopefully there is a Adventures Into the Unknown box set with Julia and Barnabas or something to that effect coming soon.

When I heard this news, my jaw hit the floor! Sheâs brilliant! I met Julie once at an event that she was attending, along with the now departed Yvonne Craig, and Dawn Wells....three beautiful women who were absolute joys to be around. Julieâs iconic, and she will bring her magic to DS! I couldnât be more pleased, and whoever pulled this off is amazing!! Julie Newmar & Andrew Collins...Julia Hoffman & Barnabas...Catwoman & the ultimate âBATmanâ! YASSS!

Julie! I need to stop swearing! Newmar! This is one of the best pieces of casting news I think we've ever gotten.
EDIT: You know what's in the middle of that statement but i'm gonna keep it because it amuses me

I think what I love most about this is that with Julie, we know weâre not getting an actor who is going to do her best imitation of Grayson Hall! Grayson was such a unique and iconic actress. Julie is exactly that, but in her own inimitable way. She wonât simply channel Grayson. Sheâll deliver her own version of the good Dr. Hoffman. If anyone can do justice to the memory of Graysonâs portrayal, yet make it uniquely her own, Julie will do it! Love it!
