*raises hand* Still gives me chills. Avon bathed in red light, the camera cutting closer and closer as he raises his gun to the Federation troopers -- and then he smiles. It's iconic with just enough ambiguity that you can make up your own ending.

Here's a question I always enjoy asking: Who do you personally think made it of the group?

Avon, definitely. He's a survivor.

Definitely. I think Villa might have made it out as well. He has a very well-developed sense of self-preservation.

Here's a question I always enjoy asking: Who do you personally think made it of the group? Only Avon, though i do believe the writers had a way out. It was jaw dropping at the time in my youth it was like NOOOOOOOO.My sisters were devastated. The year before the destruction of the Liberator was bad enough but this was a head F for everyone. I had it recorded on cassette tape and its the one Blake i know word for word lol though i enjoy having the new Dayna ,who really can replace Josette Simons rich vocals and sarcasm.

I always thought it was needing Servalan to walk in at the end and personally pull the trigger that kills Avon.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I heard it was also broadcast in the last week of December for 1981 too? If that's the case, er, Merry Christmas, I guess...? What a way for the series to bow out, suitably Orwellian. It doesn't feel as though it could've gone any other way. Although, yeah, it feels a bit strange not to have Servalan in it somewhere. If not pulling the trigger then at least giving the order. Ooh, I've heard good things about Yasmin Bannerman regarding the full cast range. I haven't been able to catch any of the very recent audios, unfortunately, but I really enjoyed her turn as Roz for the Novel Adaptations. I've got high hopes, I think she'll be an excellent fit.

Yes Yasmin does a great part....But Josette is so distinctive vocally.Yasmin says it was Dayna/Josette that inspired her and the audios wouldn’t be complete without Dayna so am glad she was recast

There’s a horror movie called Alien? That’s really offensive. No wonder everyone keeps invading you.

Chris Boucher was known for many years after as "The man who killed Christmas." I was devastated by the ending (I was 12 when it aired in Australia) but it seemed a realistic way of ending the series to me. It's a near perfect piece of television imnsho. i rewatched the entire run a couple of years ago, inspired by the @makingblakes7 Twitter account, and Series D seems to spend most of its time building up to that episode.
