Great stuff; looking forward to these immensely. Hopefully a World Shapers / Voyager set at some point too.

Even more Fourth Doctor! We are being spoilt. With artwork (hopefully) available to them I am really looking forward to the video trailer for these! I still do not believe that the Fourth Doctor novel adaptations weren’t popular. They remain my personal favourite Fourth Doctor audio adventures. I think if i remember correctly it was said by Nick Briggs personally i enjoyed them

An adaptation of The Flood would be simply amazing. We’d get a new treatment for the Cybermen voices and it would be awesome.

It's finally been announced after years of being teased. In March 2019 we'll get The Iron Legion and The Star Beast, adapted by Alan Barnes. Does this meet the hype? Yes, because they were great strips and it's Tom Baker!

More of my Lizzies Windsors to be spent to fund the Big Finish Christmas Party.
They had my money at Fourth.

I love the DWM comics and will probably buy these, but I have to ask why Big Finish thinks comic adaptations will do any better than novel adaptations. The novel adaptations were of books that had mostly been OOP for years and had a lot of fan demand, whereas the comics are thankfully quite easy to acquire in Panini's nice collections and I've never seen the same level of fan demands as the NAs or EDAs.

It's not really about fan demand, I'd say it's more about exploring a new market... and the Doctor Who Weekly/Monthly comic strips are a market largely untapped for audio adaptations. Also, getting Fourth Doctor audios recorded while Tom is still around to do them is a good idea too.

I also think that the licensing was a lot easier and cheaper compared to the novels as the majority of the comics are still in print and have a simpler copyright process due to Panini still being a working company.

They also have a longtime working relationship with one of the strips' co-writers, Pat Mills, who wrote The Song of Megaptera, The Scapegoat and Dead London for Big Finish way back when. As much as I would really, really love this first volume to be the Sixth Doctor's comic stories... Bringing in the Fourth Doctor (always a popular figure), Beep the Meep (Toby Longsworth does him to a tee) and tales from a writer they're professionally familiar with (all three entries are really great) makes a lot of sense. I think this is going to be great, I'm certain there'll be at least one crack at Sixie's era before the range bows out and The Iron Legion's definitely the place to start.

Wonder who Big Finish have cast as Sharon? Not that they *have* to include her, but no doubt they have!

Oh brilliant, thanks for the confirmation.
We really are lucky with expanding Tom’s era good and proper recently. The Night of the Vashta Nerada, River Song, Series 8 And now the comic adaptations. Great stuff!

I kind of hope they will have the version of the theme from the DVD special features on the comics. I know they won't, but it'd be cool if they did ....

They were across 8 DVDs, one for each of the first 8 Drs. I'd need to be at home to check but I think they were all entitled Stripped for Action. May not have been the actual Dr who theme on them but it was something like it.
