This is being released at *exactly* the right time for me - I've been on a McGann binge for the past two or so months (two hours each workday) and just finished Series 2 of the EDAs today. Considering how that story ends, slotting in these adventures now over the next couple of days fit in so very well as a kind of reminiscence before jumping into Orbis feet first!

Anyone else think there will be a 8DA sale once its released? I noticed that they’ve had a trailer made promoting Series 1, so it seems logical that it would coincide with a sale.

An issue I just ran into after downloading- sadly the file name is so long that I could not extract some of the music suite files. So I had to re-name the zip file to the much shorter "Lucie Miller", and now this is also the name of the folder. This is the first time this had happened, this must be the release with the longest name so far. Not a real problem per se, but mildly annoying that I could not keep the original file name. Just in case you run into the same issue- just shorten the name of the zip file and it will work.

You may not be using Windows so this may not apply to you, but there's been a known Windows issue the exact same as this for many years. Filenames -- including the path (ie: C:\My Music\Big Finish\Doctor Who\Eighth Doctor\LucieMiller.zip) -- cannot exceed 260 characters. So if you've got a long filename, and it plus your file path add up to greater than 260 characters, you're going to run into this issue.

I had to google to find out. You learn something new every day. I know it is no biggie, but annoying non-the-less.

Started on the first episode. One thing I can say already- I absolutely LOVE the music for this release. Normally I am a bit indifferent to the background music, but for this one, they really made an effort and even someone as tone-deaf as I am impressed. Otherwise- the first episode is one of those you have to listen to again when you know how everything comes together. Which is not necessarily a bad thing, I love being kept in the dark. I think it is really good that the story is told from the point of view of Lucie and that the Doctor is out of commission for most of the story. It keeps you guessing and also gives Lucie much more space to shine. Another positive point- maybe I am finally getting used to her, but somehow I felt she was much less annoying as I thought of her in the beginning. Also- I wish we had Paul McGann singing more often. Since he apparently can sing, it is a bit of a waste to not use this talent. So please- make it happen. Hmm. Looking at this post, I seem to be most impressed with the musical side of things. That makes a nice change.

So happy it's out but... Do I listen to it now or do I save it for my long haul flight to the nearly opposite end (latitude and longitude) of the US next week?
