Movie, TV show, video game, musical, opera whatever. What soundtrack are you listening to?
Me, I'm enjoying some Daft Punk with the soundtrack for Tron Legacy.

Been listening to both Incredibles soundtracks recently. It's a spectacular mix.

I love soundtracks, I have a ton of them. Which one I’m listening to seems to rotate based on either my existing mood, the mood I’m trying to create for myself, or how well I think it complements what I’m reading.
Last week I had the soundtrack from the game Jade Empire in pretty heavy rotation. This morning I started reading the book The Road, so (perhaps predictably) I had the soundtrack for the movie version playing.

Listened to The Force Awakens soundtrack last night. It's one of Williams' finest - but then again, so are all of his Star Wars soundtracks. My favorite still remains The Empire Strikes Back, though.

Lots of Jerry Goldsmith lately. Patton, Hour of the Gun, Planet of the Apes, Star Trek: The Motion Picture and Under Fire.

Clint Mansell's soundtrack for The Fountain. Arthur Sharpe's two soundtracks for the Flowers tv series, lovely stuff.

The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers (Complete Recordings) I've had the records for this for a number of weeks now but I hadn't had an opportunity to play them yet. Since I watched the movie yesterday (and wasn't able to watch The Return of the King today), I thought it was about time I gave them a spin! I love the music in this trilogy. In my opinion, it's the best collection of music for any film series ever. Howard Shore's score is just beautiful, and the way it's utilised through the series is inspiring. Having said this, I think the soundtrack for The Fellowship of the Ring is the better of these two, as it has more of the iconic melodies and themes than Two Towers does (but "The Tales That Really Matter" did have me in tears - I find the music that moving! I love it so much!). I'm looking forward to contrasting it with the Complete Recordings of The Return of the King when the records arrive for that in a month or so

When you guys listen to a soundtrack, do you think of the piece itself, or the scene the music cues played over as well?

A little bit of both. It depends what I'm listening to. A movie/TV soundtrack - probably the relevant scene, though I'll also listen to the piece for its own merits. A video game soundtrack - I'm focusing more on the mood I was in when playing the relevant sections of the game, so I only use those when I need cheering up, usually.

Alien 3 The Full version
This is such a fantastic score that is just dripping with atmosphere. Listening to The score, then a few alternate takes and then the cut compilation shows how much is there

First Man.
I've listened about 10 times this week. Really mixes a modern sound with the sense of awe that we generally don't get in modern scores.

Lots of John Carpenter at the moment, particularly his score for The Fog, which is so atmospheric and creepy that it sounds like an auditory manifestation of the film's fog visuals.
