Aaaannyyyyywayyyy.... Dark Shadows: Bloodline (stretching the definition of "Coming Soon" since 2016) finally has a release scheduled and there'll be many more character teasers to come. And it's a belter even if I do say so myself. Two more series of the sublime Tony and Cassandra Mysteries (seriously... listen to the trailers, I love Jerry and Lara together). Dark Shadows: Windcliff in the works (and it's going to be as different from Bloodline as that is to Bloodlust - we never rest on our laurels here in the attic room). Plus another mysterious project and *then* another miniseries: Dark Shadows: Thirteen. (Which I know a little about and am looking forward to enormously - not least coz I can watch someone else do the work on that one.) We are living in a golden age. So jubilate! Ignore the buzzkill posts and wait eagerly for guaranteed Collinsport-related scares and twists! (And to think... you thought it had all died off didn't you? I've had to bite my tongue so much sometimes...) Hang on a minute, my head isn't big enough to absorb all this amazing news. So, we have THREE series in the works, TWO more boxsets and ... something else too??
Genuinely, and especially in the sad wake of the curtailing of some much of my favourite Big Finish recently, I genuinely thought things had ground to a halt (only bobod's occasional mysterious murmurings gave me any kind of hope). This really is all very good news indeed. Right, I'm off to open a bottle of something to jubilate ...

Bloodline Windcliff Thirteen Tony and Cassandra Series 2 Tony and Cassandra Series 3 And the September 2020 story mentioned. That's the something else... Must confess that one slipped me by originally when I read the press release. I was too busy being excited by seeing my name in it twice.

No idea as it's not my department - I'm only a (hopefully qualifying) Big Finish Creative after all. My gut instinct is bundles would only apply to stuff available to (pre)order, though. But I'm not a BF employee and thus can't make either a definitive statement or decision on that.

Two more series of the sublime Tony and Cassandra Mysteries (seriously... listen to the trailers, I love Jerry and Lara together). They seriously are! And this extended tour of their adventures makes their parting all the more sad, her use of "Cassandra Peterson" in B&F all the more bittersweet, and the happenings of Vengeance at Collinwood all the more tragic. Seriously, there's some good work and pedigree going on here.

My goal for Windcliff is to out-horror the King of Horror that is Aaron Lamont. That should tell you all you need to know about that particular serial.

I much prefer the theatre of war one. The other one has always looked to me as a cheap way to increase post count. Besides I see it as a case of knowing your audience. The vast majority of us are going to know exactly what story the topic is about, we shouldn’t need it spelled out for us.

And yet when we were asked to Bloodline, Aaron and I met up at a recording and the first thing he did was turn to me accusingly and say (re "Shurafa")"and people say I'm the sick one". So it's all swings and roundabouts really. I fear some of your ideas. And then Penny's... oh God... some of Penny's... We all have a universe of our own horrors to face. And then we turn them into a Dark Shadows serial...

So that's how it works, is it? Some people say you should write about what you know. As far as I am concerned this is utterly false and useless advice. I say write about what turns up in your head after three whiskies and a large amount of cheese. Admittedly, I may currently be mining a specific niche for that strategy, but it's working so far...

But with wine, tapas, and “oh, that’s a bit dark...” Correction: "Oh, that's a bit dark..." Pause. Brief eye contact between all concerned. *Tapping of keys on keyboard...*

Hey, whatever works for you. You may yet turn me into a Dark Shadows fan. I'd seriously try the Tony and Cassandra stuff. They're a bit lighter and funnier and adventurey-er (!) and more self-contained. If you try the Series 1 box set I even make a brief cameo. Two words, admittedly, but I think significant ones. (They're not significant ones.) Phantom Bride is lovely too. Devil Cat has Sarah Sutton being amazing. The Death Mask is their first re-meeting. They have a nice little thread going. Phantom Bride was the first DS audio I listened to, though, and it got me listening to more. I can see the other DS stuff not quite working for you based on previous posts, but T&C have a nice Moonlighting vibe.

But then I'm a Ghostwatch fan, and I think Beyond the Grave takes that premise and runs way further with it. Just don't tell Aaron that. I'd hate him to think I admire him in any way. That might tip the balance of power.

Wyncliffe has me worried if we're going to see Jackie's road to head of Wyncliffe the long wayround.... There are many reasons we've come up with so far to be worried about Windcliff, trust me. But maybe not in that way. It'll be fine. Come... settle down and I'll fetch you something to... calm your nerves.
