While I read the big press release a few days ago, I have loved catching up with everyone's opinions on here. There's so much excitement, speculation, and the occasional teaser that one day we may all understand.
Okay, maybe in my excitement I'm missing something, but are Windcliff and Thirteen sequels to Bloodline like Bloodline is a sequel to Bloodlust, Kingdom of the Dead, and whatever we want to call the first season full cast stories? Or are each of these just other amazing thirteen-part handlers more akin to Quentin and Maggie or Tony and Cassandra or Blood & Fire? Either way, I am looking forward to whichever way these expand the Dark Shadows universe.
Can't wait to be back on here, speculating in between episodes. I agree with what everyone else seems to remember. I had ordered the CDs, but was able to immediately download the next episode digitally (usually at midnight in England, which was 7pm the day before for me on the east coast of America- so perfect for a post dinner walk with the dog and then a morning refresher before adding to the speculation on the forums). Half the fun last time was how the individual episodes lead and mislead us, both individually and how it all came together in the end. Knowing Big Finish, they will have fun with new twists and turns to keep us all speculating up until the last moment.
I particularly liked Maggie's storyline. Who knew in 2015 how relevant in our contemporary political reality this would be around the world?

Damn you Rob Morris aaronl and misterphipps, your stupid passion for Dark Shadows has gone and made me listen to Bloodlust episode 1 and I now have bought the series and Maggie and Quentin as I have enjoyed both of their characters through the short stories and the solo Quentin audios, which I had planned to be content with. Grrr.

I'm delighted to see that some of our DS fans are renaming Windcliff as Wyncliffe. We're only one letter away from replacing Collinsport with Cornish cliffs and bringing Jack Shepherd's Detective out of retirement. Another cracking theme tune.
PS. I'm even more delighted to see that there are more DS releases lined up. Hurrah.

In the latest Vortex Nick says an upcoming set will involve Victoria Winters, albeit not played by Alexandra Moltke, so maybe one of these are it. Um... I've just seen the latest Vortex. That's not what is said, either part, and that's not who says it. Hopefully it'll be ok to quote this...

Still, excited to see there's going to be some Victoria in some form or other in one of that lot of releases :3

Hey, whatever works for you. You may yet turn me into a Dark Shadows fan. I'd seriously try the Tony and Cassandra stuff. They're a bit lighter and funnier and adventurey-er (!) and more self-contained. If you try the Series 1 box set I even make a brief cameo. Two words, admittedly, but I think significant ones. (They're not significant ones.) Tony and Cassandra is included in the Happy Horrordays special offers (Code: SPOOKY), so I dropped it in my shopping basket. We'll see how I like it. Lots of other Dark Shadows stuff on offer, as well.

So just finished bloodlust which was amazing and im anticipating Bloodline upon its release next year, however am i correct in the idea that first i need releases 45-50 in the audiobook to fill the gap between bloodlust and bloodline?

Not really. Three involve stories being told to other characters, three don't. And only two of the story-telling ones are to new characters. The other is two established characters. And they're all very different story-telling techniques too: only Shurafa is really a "narrated" story. To say you *need* to listen to them before Bloodline will be overstating the case (although obviously I'd say you should anyway because, you know... I wrote one). They just take place in the intervening year - although Tainted Love does tell you how certain characters get together. But who that is was made very clear in the trailer that's been out for ages. I would say get them anyway, mind.

No, not really it isn't. I'd absolutely recommend doing the 1973 audios - House by the Sea, Beneath the Veil, Enemy Within, The Lucifer Gambit, The Flip Side, Harvest of Souls, The Happier Dead and Carriage of the Damned - because they're a sneaky extra full cast ongoing story (told over a run of self-contained plays) and then do 45-50 because they're another great run and are indeed set after Bloodlust (and pick up plots from both Bloodlust and the 1973 audios). But no, there is no NEED to. Yes, some things from those audios will be revisited but Bloodline will fill you in.

Were you able to record a DS themed podcast at Big Finish Day? Davy recorded the two Dark Shadows drop in sessions chats I did - with him, Joe, Matthew Waterhouse and Alistair McGown in attendance for both. So we'll see what knits together from them. Podcasts with a live audience. There's not really anything else in the can after that at the moment, which disappoints me greatly. I'm still in recovery after a bad fall in May and only recently have I been able to get out and about, on crutches/a crutch. And indeed I was actually literally housebound during the main UK sessions for T&C2&3 and Bloodline so not only I was I not there to do interviews, I know very little about them as I never see the scripts - which I suppose at least means a different kind of enjoyment for me when I get to hear these ones. There was one person in particular I'm desperate to talk to who I've now missed both studio opportunities to speak to since the podcast started. And I kept being sent messages from <SNIP MAYBE I SHOULDN'T NAME THEM IF THE CAST HASN'T BEEN ANNOUNCED> friends in the cast as recordings proceeded. I haven't even heard T&C2 yet, which I've usually done pre-release. But I listen to my BFs on the move, and so I've built up a huge backlog. I just can't listen to them sat at home, which was what my summer consisted of (I even watched Rear Window with my leg up in the middle of a heatwave, I feared for my neighbours' safety). I had to listen to a lot of Sophie Aldred stuff these last couple of weeks to catch up before interviewing her and Matthew together.

Well, I hope you continue to improve. And thanks for all you do here and for Dark Shadows.
