If compilation time is an obstacle, than an e-magazine subscription is something I'd sign up for. The Pathfinder ones would be interesting, finding out about how the writers adapted the storylines for example. I think that the book format works better, making it an 'event' release. I did my Big Finish fanzines on a semi regular basis, back in the day. I have been giving away the first Lucie Miller series issue on Twitter this past week. It's in printer ready pdf form. Am not on twitter(never have been) or FB(anymore) i do download Vortex on the pad but thats a different kettle of fish to the companion. The companion is a better reference guide.Och am getting the first one anyways and look forward to a third lol laid out in a similar fashion.

I haven’t bought volume 2, but I was disappointed with The Big Finish Companion volume 1
However it was always going to struggle in comparison to The New Audio Adventures - The inside Story
My biggest complaint with the companion book was that the biggest section for each release was the synopsis that simply put down in words what happened in the story, however this thread has reminded me that I have it, so when I start a Lucie Miller series 1 relisten ahead of her Further Adventures I can give that section another read.

I dont know book 1 but the second volume i can recommend i am enjoying it good layout synopsis its a good reference book. People may think am easily pleased but i am not it does what it says its a companion and its a good read too as well as a reference book. No complaints from me. I mentioned the Diana Gabaldon OUTLANDER companion-the Outlandish companion. It is better laid out the only difference is Gabaldons is on finer paper its the same price half the size but double the pages. Both are great.

The intros for each section are significantly longer for vol 2, with all-new interviews. Each is at least 5000 words. Send me a DM if you want a free pdf zine.

It's my weapon of choice to a pushy peddler of religious material on a Friday night in town, when they ignore the earphones I have in precisely to ignore them. Sadly I can't do a Rex Kramer on them (Airplane! reference).

Really? Volume 1 is that bad? I never bothered with it cause it didn't seem like the kind of thing I would enjoy reading. I wouldn't use the word bad. But as a factual book the glaring errors early on mean you can't rely on the other stuff should you be the type of person that likes to check things up and expect them to be correct. There is a lot of good information in the book for Big Finish fans and I'm sure 99% of people are happy with it.

It gets the first ever Big Finish release wrong, in two different places. There was a few other smaller things, but if a book about Big Finish thinks The Sirens of Time was the where it all began for Big Finish you kind of do this...

Lol well its a kind of trivial kind of thing though. To some people it may be. I like things to be right and if you can't get past the Foreward without spotting a mistake it affects your reliance on the other stuff. Of course, some people might not even know they are errors, and some won't care. So each to their own and all that ...
