It's coming! One episode left before Heaven Sent.... The finale. The time of no regular Doctor Who on the television is nearly upon us - and quite a different finale it is too, according to DWM. Will Galifery return? Will The Doctor's will be known? What does all this hybrid talk actually mean? Will it or will it not mark the end of Clara's time in the TARDIS? Note: Please no discussion of rumours/spoilers in the thread. Thanks

The Girl Who Died and Woman Who Lived are counted as a two-parter despite being written by different people and only sharing two characters in common (three technically, even if the third only appears at the very end).

Counted by who, though? As DWM notes, if those two eps were separated by a full season, it wouldn't change the scripts at all. So is it a two parter? The Davros and Zygon ones are but the Ashidir ones intentionally muddy the waters. Moffat says it is and it isn't a two-parter. He also says the point of the next 3 eps we're getting is that they can be read as one three-parter, a one parter followed by a two parter or 3 single eps. Rachel Talalay says they will change the way we look at all the season's eps. I think the days or hard and fast sequel labels ended this year.

I suppose it's all up to the interpretation of the individual to decide for Girl Who Died and Woman Who Lived. An older case of uncertainty regarding two and three parters is whether Utopia is part of the same story as Sound of Drums and Last of the Time Lords. If outside context from the previous episode is needed, does that count them as a two or three parter? Could you understand Woman Who Lived without knowing anything about Girl Who Died? Is there anything about the ending of the first part that compels you to watch the second part? Damn you Moffat!

I have NO idea where the next 3 eps are going. I can't remember ever knowing less about the final few eps.
It's wonderful.

Based on absolutely nothing...it's fun to play guessing games 1. Ashildir is back in Heaven Sent. 2. She's revealed as a young Ohilia 3. Clara dies but gets a River-like immortality 4. The Hybrid will be The Doctor - or something/someone connected to him. 5. Missy rules Gallifrey as a dictatorship. 6. River appears at the end of the series like Father Christmas last year.

Oh I like number 5.

I don't think Galifery will return, but I do think we'll see some other Time Lords crossover.
Hmm, I'm not sure if we'll see River at the end of episode thirteen, though. I think episode thirteen needs to be all about the loss of Clara, particularly given that she's already had a previous (albiet short lived) depature.

Ashildr might appear in Hell Bent, but no one but the Doctor is appearing in Heaven Sent. It also occurred to me that Me might be a young Ohila, but DWM said that the original idea for her immortality was to have the Doctor to take her to Karn to have Ohila revive her. I suppose that doesn't rule the idea out, but that would mean that there original idea was particularly timey-wimey.
