Following the sell-out success of Big Finish’s limited edition Doctor Who stories on vinyl in Sainsbury's and HMV earlier this year, we have two more exclusive releases coming to stores soon.
On 5th October 2018, HMV will release Doctor Who: Cold Vengeance starring David Tennant and Billie Piper. This is the second Big Finish vinyl release that Rose has appeared in following her debut in Infamy of the Zaross earlier this year.

This quote is perfect. This is why I have and always will be a physical collector for the past 30+ years when I hit my teens:
"Designer Mark Plastow said: "Adapting the format for these Big Finish releases has been a joy – I get to indulge in two of my obsessions. I adore Doctor Who and I adore vinyl, and putting the two together makes the world just that little bit better. Art really doesn’t like being squeezed down to a measly 12cm, it wants to be big and bold, it wants to be on your wall!"

The important things to remember are that
1) there will be more copies available at more stores, we're told 2) YOU CAN ORDER THE HMV ONE NOW ONLINE! Hurry hurry hurry! There's a very limited number of "Cold Vengeance" that can be ordered on hmv.com right now.

And ps BF...never mind releasing stuff on vinyl try releasing the BF ORIGINALS on CD. Sad as it may be, it wouldnt supprise me if the two hmv and sainsburys vinyls weve had so far have sold better and made more money than the 4 orignials put together. Which is odd as the vinyls are like £30 but thats the power of who i guess. Really, download is the only way bf can produce originals as it way cheaper and i hope it works out tbh. Im hoping to get the scary one next month, mainly to support the range as im starting to get a but of an income but if i had to choose between doctor who and the originals, i would pick doctor who and i think that applys to a lot of us who dont have a lot to spend do end up choosing doctor who.

I dont know now I really enjoyed the Shilling and the Drama Showcase range. Most people will always buy Who but they do need to branch out and a lot of the Who coming out i can say no not to my taste etc.Its best not to put all your eggs in one basket as they say.You give me good drama and i will buy.

I know that these are kind of guaranteed money makers but the fact that 1. These are UK only 2. They honestly seem to be releasing 'meh' stories instead of the best of the best drives me nuts.

Because two of them were written by Briggs weren’t they the previous leela /Dalek story and ZYGON Hunt hardly a classic but will suit a NEW WHO audience

Is vinyl more expensive to produce than CD nowadays yet the originals cannot be released on Cd i find that hard to swallow since they are always saying they are moving away from Physical media

My apologies if this may not be entirely relevant to this thread, but notice that this tweet features vinyl covers of Cold Vengeance and Zygon Hunt without the labels... Well, somebody has asked about Infamy of the Zaross. So does it actually exist?

Cold Vengeance: Tenth Doctor/Rose and Ice Warriors = Popular Doctor and companion plus classic era Doctor Who monster.
Zygon Hunt: Fourth Doctor/Leela and Zygons = Popular Doctor and companion plus classic era Doctor Who monster.
A lot of people seem to be buying the BF vinyl releases to keep in it's wrapper and/or flip on eBay for a profit, so it might not matter which stories they actually release as it's possible only a minority of them are actually getting listened to. But the popular combination of a fan favourite Doctor and classic era monster for their vinyl LP releases is completely understandable from a business POV.

I can actually understand you're points, and Cold Vengeance I get as a release like this way more than Zygon Hunt. The King Of Sontar is a much better story, IMO, and it has all of the same elements. And that's just the first thing that popped into my head. I'm sure there are more. I don't mean to argue with you. You didn't choose the story. I'm just curious about this choice.

The King of Sontar would fit the popular Doctor/Companion and classic era monster criteria, and for all we know it could well be in the next round of Limited Edition vinyl releases.
