And just to ensure my defence is justified as regards Shilling and Sixpence i had a quick listen to Lord Peter Wimsey an upper class English detective that does annoy me Then a listen to The Dying Room in Shilling and Nope not a ham in sight, actually i have never had a Big Finish that genuinely sent shivers down my spine and this episode does it in spadefuls Most famously played on radio/audio by Ian Carmichael who was of course a fine Scottish actor
But in England we don't object to some cultural appropriation by our friends across the border. And remember, Lord Peter's 'upper class twit' aspects - the monocle, the chatter, the clippin' of 'g's are all part of his 'disguise'. Criminals don't take him seriously... until it's too late!

Yes but terrible terrible accents...it was just a character I couldn’t get into on the other hand Harriet Vane i could get into as Inspector Alleyn played by Patrick M and he was a Lord wasn’t he? and my love for Poirot characters and Marple so its not the English accent that is annoying (in case any one of My English neighbours😁 takes offence)

And as for Lords and Ladies it’s Lady Christina and Lady Suzanne Clare as if this adds respectability to the criminals lol would Raine have taken off if she had been Lady Raine?
