So, the series has ended, BF's licence has been revoked and the BBC have used their remote demat gun to confiscate any and every collection available... I would finally have the time to:
Work for World Peace Save the Panda (and Iris) Search every attic, garage and spare room in the entire world for 'Marco Polo'
Translate the complete works of Shakespeare from the original Klingon
Nah, who am I kidding? I'd be joining the pitchforks-and-torches march on W1A. The Fall of Rome would be like the Vicar's tea-party compared with the massed wrath of the Followers of Who having their Precious taken away!
And, Reithian to the end, the Beeb would cover the whole thing impartially on the news until the light went out on the last camera. Then they would play some light music and apologise for the interruption to normal service.

I think I would be ok......to be honest over the past year or so......I have fell out of love with doctor who as a brand (but that's another whole new can of worm that's opened far too often)
I would fill the void with audio books (epic fantasy or horror) or bbc comedy...…..

No I'd be devastated as i have no interest in the current new series & I'll only have Big Finish to satisfy my love for Doctor Who.
Besides as a manic depressive who has 100's thoughts running around his head i find these audio dramas one of a few things which calm & relax me.
Big Finish should be prescribed on the NHS.

I share your pain, i too am struggling because of the direction the new series is taking but then i hear The Dalek Occupation Of Winter & I'm reminded of why i love this show. Only other audios i listen too are the Alien Audible series & Graphic Audio DC & Marvel although why they bother with DC as they haven't adapted any DC story's for year's. God i wish Big Finish would adapt Batman Graphic Novels.

Its more to do with the way I feel about it because of the changes rather than the actual changes..... but yeah dalek occ of winters was ok, but the the whole show is tainted at the moment. even got me ticket to big finish day and not sure I want to go......... i just hope once the new series stuff has come and gone, and all the crap that’s come with it has gone away I can find my love again..... i like the alien stuff.....I love all Dirk mags work....(well apart from this years pratchett travesty) i still really love batman knightfall, but really struggle with graphic audio.......

Further to the above... ... oh I see, you wanted serious answers @audity ? OK then, my serious answer is that in a world in which all 'Doctor Who', ever, ceased to exist, I'd read and watch more 'golden age' crime novels/drama (Christie, DLS, Allingham, etc.), Holmes of course, 19thC classic novels, post-war spy fiction (Bond, Le Carre, etc.) And of course, 'The Avengers', 'The Professionals', 'The Sweeney', 'Minder' and all those other great ITC popular entertainment shows, the classic BBC comedies (Dad's Army et al, Fawlty Towers, Yes Minister etc. etc.) And I believe there are other science-fiction shows and some of them are quite good...

I'd be fine. Its just a show. So fill the unvoid with what? Just other stuff. Like when the show, or any show I like, is not on I just do other things. I don't constantly think about whatever programme is currently not on.

And to further that, if the show doesn’t even exist, we wouldn’t know we weren’t watching it anymore. So like JHD said we’d all being doing different things without caring.

Oh no deffo a loathsome man...i cannot understand th love people have for him at all well acted though but they have to end him not like the graphic novels A lot of that love is likely because they enjoy watching the character and the potrayal, not the actions of philosophy. I love Hannibal Lecter not because I agree with his ideology or actions but because he is an interesting character study. And people in this world will love people regardless of their actions such as people who still support the priests that sexually abused children and the church that covered it up. So this is nothing new.

Tell me Do You Watch the BBC did the BBC not cover up a big scandal like that too?Do you buy BBC products?Do you watch Doctor Who produced by a company that covered it Up? Do you judge the BBC by the same standard you are judging the other? You actually have pissed me off now actually this actually was fun but its lost it now this site I definitely didn’t mean to make you upset and if you wish I won’t talk about that with and I wasn’t looking to bring it up against you if that’s how you feel. I am sorry that you feel this way and I will refrain from talking about. And again, this isn’t a matter of targeting you, I didn’t even realize I had talked about it while you were in the conversation. Apologies.

Qapla'! I was honestly thinking of writing down -- "Either that or perform a raid on the BBC lock-up," so glad to see I'm not the only one with that impulse. I will journey from the Silk Road and bring my sonic screwdriver, a BBC-branded instrument that naturally opens all BBC-branded locks.

A world without Big Finish making new Doctor Who adventures is pretty hard to imagine now. I could hope they'd spend a year or two trying to stay afloat by seeing just how much Dark Shadows and Blake's 7 they can make. :-) Big Finish should be prescribed on the NHS. I think it's over three years now I've been telling people that Doctor Who is doing me more good than a real Doctor, which seems to actually be true so far.

Glad to hear it we have talked many times on here of having distractions from the real world.BF does it expertly. I listened to Nick Briggs recently on a podcast trying hard to find words to say about Dark Shadows-they really need to lock him in a booth and make him listen to superior storytelling skills (ps I like his stories) I just feel he needs to invest time in a franchise that really is expertly done He needs to get really behind it. In a few months i have got to grip with most of the story points that the audio world reveals he should do the same ,I haven’t and am not asking him to go through years of telly dvds.
