The second story is under the new series banner and has the description of a “Scottish man” in the bio
Could this be a twelfth Doctor story by any chance??

Nice catch finding it under the New Series section! EDIT: What's the (im)probability it could actually be Peter Capaldi himself reading this?

Or maybe Jenna Coleman? Who knows, really. My hope is for Matt Lucas, though.

The second story is under the new series banner and has the description of a “Scottish man” in the bio Could this be a twelfth Doctor story by any chance?? Well it sure sounds like that! The other three stories are listed under their collected Doctor categories - but of course, there is no Collected 12th Doctor category! Also, Leela is going to meet the Brigadier! And just... a Brigadier story!! The other two sound cool too - glad they stuck with the continuity that it was the Second Doctor who learned Venusian Aikido while travelling with Jamie and Victoria. I assume those two stories will be read by Louise and Frazer, but I wonder who's stepping in to read Doctors and Dragons (there's no companion listed, but they could still be in the story).

Finally! They've may have listed titles only for the first four, but the entire 2019 and 2020 series of ST are up and available for purchase.

As much as a 12th Doc story would be cool...but the Seventh is the original Doctor to be a "strange Scottish man"? Klein even called him that.

Nice that they’re finally incorporating all the Doctors into the range. My concern will be who they get to read them. I mentioned before that I’m not too keen on the main Short Trips range featuring readers that aren’t actually stars of the story they’re reading.
Perhaps pedantic on my part, but I’m interested to see who they get to read.
And if Andy Frankham-Allen now has to write all Brigadier and Great Intelligence stories, I think I'd rather they just quietly not use them!

As much as a 12th Doc story would be cool...is everyone above forgetting the Seventh Doctor is the original Doctor to be a "strange Scottish man"? Klein even called him that. Except the news article says it's a Twelfth Doctor story, and it's categorised under "new series". So, you know, I'm guessing it's not a Seventh Doctor story.

I read the link to the product page itself where there's no mention, not the article - oops!

I know it’s probably going to be a long shot, but I wonder if the Eleventh Doctor meeting an old friend could possibly be linked to Karen Gillan doing an audiobook recently? Though, I’m sure if they’d got Karen, they would have got her in something full-cast, as opposed to a Short Trip.
But, just imagine...

Well now..in the words of a certain theatre impresario of the late nineteenth century... DASH MY OPTICS!!
Two years of Short Trips (I'm in!)..The Brigadier and Leela together for the first time (squee!)..stories from the Ninth to the Twelfth Doctors (double squee!)..and Venusian Akido to boot (looking forward to a few Troughton-esque HAI!'s being thrown in by Frazer..).
A good start to the weekend. Thank you Big Finish!
Now if you could just get round to announcing a two to three year extension on UNIT, The Early Adventures and the Third Doctor Adventures (with the added bonus of Tim and Katy's tales going twice yearly), then I would be a very happy chappy indeed... 😊

FWIW for the BBC's own original one disc Who stories and for the audiobooks of 11th and 12th Doc stories, they got Matt and Arthur to do a couple but the vast majority were by non-companion guest stars - Frances Barber, Lisa Bowerman, Olivia Colman, Meera Syal, Neve McIntosh, Dan Starkey. I'd guess that'll be true at BF as well. Dan's done a billion and one BFs and of course meets the "original cast member" remit. For the 12th Doc BBC audiobooks, Samuel Anderson and Jemma Redgrave is as close as they got to a companion doing one I think. Mandip Gill may have only been a companion for a week on telly but she's already doing Who audios with the audiobook of Combat Majicks by Steve Cole coming next month! Capaldi's done none, Karen's done none, Jenna none, Matt Lucas none, Pearl none....even Matt Smiths were all in his first year. I think BF are gonna have to twist some arms if they want full cast 11 and 12 boxsets!

It is difficult to see who could be reading that Twelfth Doctor story apart from one of his actual companions, if not Peter himself. Hmm.
I suspect the Eleventh Doctor one will be someone like one of the Paternosters though.

Interestingly, one of them was originally supposed to be narrated by Matt and Karen but something happened and I think it was Clare Corbett who ended up narrating with Matt instead.

I guess with them being in Deep Breath you can have the Paternosters do a 12th Doctor story too, though you're right....who thinks of them as anything but 11's support cast? Would be a bit like just having Nick as the reader since he's done all those 2005 onwards monster voices - would feel like a bit of a cop-out. Though at least Neve McIntosh could do a decent Capaldi accent, I still have nightmares of Claire Higgins attempt in Gods Of Winter, the BBC Audio.

I suspect the Eleventh Doctor one will be someone like one of the Paternosters though. Well, I have all of the 12th Doctor audiobooks read by Dan Starkey. He is doing an absolute amazing job on those. I think my favorite is "Silhouette" where he absolutely goes to town with Strax and the 12th Doctor. So I definitely would not mind him doing these, even if he is not a "real" companion in that sense.

Would you guys prefer an era specific cast member or a more general reader? For example, a Twelfth Doctor solo story featuring none of his companions; Ingrid Oliver or Nicholas Briggs?
My preference would be doing stories featuring the person you’re actually getting to read. For example, a Twelfth Doctor story featuring Osgood, read by Ingrid Oliver.
But to actually answer the question I put forward. I think getting an era specific cast member actually shows some effort has even put in, at least, so I suppose that would be my preference out of the two.
