Does this mean another new Sonic in the future? Probably. The future encompasses a very long time. Not the next episode, which she'd use to defeat the Demons?

Not the next episode, which she'd use to defeat the Demons? Sorry, don’t know what’ll happen in the next episode until it airs. Some predictions are already in, such as the Demons being the British Empire.

Probably. The future encompasses a very long time. I'm guessing possibly 2021. "The sonic could be a sinner, or a gentleman The sonic could be your preacher, when your soul is down The sonic could be your lawyer on a witness stand but The sonic'll never love you like I can, can, can."

I'm surprised viewers weren't bombarding the BBC with accusations of 'too PC' when the sexually fluid, genderless Alpha Centauri fist blinked at us in the early 1970s. Could it be 70s audiences were more progressive than they are now? Or more likely, they didn't have a clue what a 'hermaphrodite hexapod' was...
(I remember an eye-opening visit to the dictionary when I read the Target book in 1975! Sidney Newman must have been proud of his show - an educational BEM!! )

I can see that opinions about this episode were all over the place.
I'm going to say it: I rather enjoyed it overall.
