Thought this would be fun, instead of doing the usual who would you cast for a new Doctor, who would be your choice for a new companion? Any time period of the show, so BF or TV For me, I would love to see Nick Helm become a companion to Ol' Sixie. Absolutely hilarious and after watching Uncle, he can definitely nail the quieter and more emotional stuff. A very underrated actor I think and one that could easily be part of a second Doctor Who Musical with Sixie . Also comedian's have a great success rate in Doctor Who for breaking typecasting Also, I would love to see Reece Shearsmith back, but instead playing one of the saner incarnations of The Eleven.

If we hadn't lost Sean Hughes last year, he would've been at the top of my list, hopefully with Five in a sort of Last Detective reunion. I doubt it'd ever happen now, but ever since The Fades, I've had the idea of Iain De Caestecker as a companion.

For me, he would be a perfect Master ever since I saw his performance as the Doctor (a HYDRA version of his character) in Agents of SHIELD. While I wouldn't want it to be exactly the same character, I think the same ruthlessness and no-nonsense-ness(?) with added fun would be perfect.

I don't care how he's cast - TV or audio, companion or villain - but it baffles me that Roger Allam has never been in Who in any way.
Maybe we can create a new timeline where The Valeyard gets his own regenerations...Roger would be perfect for that.

Way back in 2000, when I submitted The Eye of the Scorpion to BF, I also pitched two other stories, A Stitch in Time and The Lone Warrior. The Lone Warrior was where I actually tried to pitch a new companion for Sixie - Tessie (Theresa) Oaks, a Victorian seamstress and occasional (when absolutely necessary) pickpocket. I wrote her with Leila Birch in mind. Tessie was probably the best thing in the script.

When it comes to companions, I'd be way off the mark, as I have no idea what young-ish actors are either popular or up-and-coming in the UK these days. It's going on 15 years since I've been back home, and I'm so out of touch, the closest I come to connecting with British pop culture these days is YouTube videos of BGT.
I've mentioned on this forum and many other places how much I want a non-21st century human companion, but I have no idea who'd be a good casting choice for one, be it a Dickensian orphan, a 52nd century refugee, or the deposed duke of a Draconian dynasty. I wish I did. I can think of plenty of "orphaned" characters already existing in the Whoniverse I'd like to see come back as companions - like Maria Jackson or Luke Smith - but knowing who'd play a new one, I'm at a loss.
I can think of plenty of actors I'd love to see in Who in general - Rufus Sewell's at the top of that list, along with Ioan Gruffudd, Jaime Murray, Sean Bean and Michael Kitchen - but none of them fit the companion role. The closest I can come up with might be...Aldis Hodge? Except he's probably more likely to be cast as the Doctor rather than a companion these days.
