Yeah, was not that hard to guess I just watched the Paul McGann video you told me about, he does having very good advice about social awkwardness, acting and writing! I would love to meet him someday too! On a side note Paul McGann has a very very relaxing voice, I could listen to him talk all day! 😊He’s another one like Capaldi who could read the phone book and it would sound amazing😀😄 Now I am imagining what if McGann and Capaldi had their own YouTube channel where they read bedtime stories together to help whovians fall asleep🤔😄😴They would both wear old fashioned silk pajamas and smoking jackets and sit in arm chairs next to each other and take turns reading soothing stories, and at the end of every episode Capaldi would play the guitar while McGann sings. It would be called Timelord Bedtime Hour😴🌛 Haha, since I am from the German generation called "Kassettenkinder" (cassette tape kids), this sounds VERY familiar. We were raised as kids with our monthly dose of audio drama (in the form of cassettes, you know, the 80s) and we listened to them before we went to sleep. So like millions more in my generation, I use audio drama and audio books to fall asleep.
McGann's voice is indeed ideal and very soothing after a hard day at work...
would love to meet him at a convention, too, and might even tell him that...

Today a colleague called me "too pragmatic for this workplace". Being told this comes as a bit of a shock when I come to think of it. I once started out as an idealistic dreamer. And now at my ripe old age, I have arrived at the common conclusion that I am just too tired of everybody's male cattle poo that they try to heap onto me. And I am not afraid to say so to anybody's face, including the bosses. The whole thing might have got started because there was a discussion about the company Christmas celebration and some people said they did not want to go because... reasons... I guess. I said "Why not? At least there is free food there." Upon which I was told off by one of the department heads (who stood behind me and who I did not notice) "You should get into the company spirit and team spirit and not have your stomach rule." My answer (of course without thinking): "Well, I have not been here so long to have developed a team spirit, but at least my stomach is trying to help out." Has to count for something. I was the talk of the whole building. Anyways, since it was Saint Nicklas day today, there were free chocolates and nuts and lebkuchen in the lunch room and they put up a Christmas tree and lights. At least someone is making an effort.

Had lot hugs from my 6 wk old niece yesterday, she literally brings me to tears seeing how cute & happy she is.
I needed to see something positive & inspirational after my cousin's diagnosis this week, it been nearly a week and still can't take it in, feel stuck in slow motion can't shake this feeling of heartbreak & sadness, to think this time next year he may no longer be with us is unbearable think about.

Got tickets for the live-show of the audio drama series I have been following since I was a child!!! Belated birthday present from my siblings. How awesome is that? Really looking forward to that, these guys are awesome! Basically heroes of a whole generation of the German Federal Republic. Now I just have to wait till March. Not good with patience...

It's enough being Co-carer to dad without this nonsense.

I discovered that there's a German bakery/import shop not too far away from my house which stocks Aachener Printen. My husband and I got quite addicted to the stuff during our stay in Aachen. I thought I'd never again taste those delicious frakkin' things, so I'm very happy to be reunited with them. Now, if only they had Apfelschorle...

During my time in NZ I became addicted to so many new foods and I am missing them... Marmite, salt and vinegar chips, and aged cheddar cheese. Serious withdrawal for Marmite toast with cheddar cheese. At least as long as I was living in Vienna this could be rectified. Now I am living in the middle of nowhere and no cheddar in sight. Sigh. I could supply you with Apfelschorle, though. And home made Apple cider (dad‘s).

Cooked some wonderful hot spicy Asian fusion pumpkin soup tonight. Finally tried out that amazing extremely sharp knife my parents gave me as a birthday gift. Bled over the whole kitchen. Note to self- bits of fingers do not make ideal ingredients for pumpkin soup. Need to get used to using a non- blunt knife again which is harder than expected. Soup was amazing, though. Maybe it gets better with sacrificing fresh human blood for it?

That's my favorite and while we were in Aachen, we were pretty puzzled when neither the hotel nor shops stocked it. I guess it's a regional thing, and by rights I should be enjoying local cuisine on holiday, not eating the same crap I can buy at home.

I was able to sell off some of my Doctor Who DVDs which I'd replaced on Blu-Ray with the new sets for some extra money. I also was gifted a very nice Christmas card from a professor I've been working with.

Will only be sold in the international section of specialty stores. Apparently the flavor salt and vinegar is disgusting to the German palate. It is a taste I acquired, however. Yeah, it can be fun to open ones food horizon. It can also be terrifying. I think with dread of the kiwi national dish of spaghetti on toast...

Today's been decent enough, last week's episode of 'His Dark Materials' with the mother, a couple of Christmas films & a couple of pages of script filled the afternoon. 'This evening I ushered an Adam Ant gig at the theatre I volunteer at (though I had to leave almost an hour early to try and catch the penultimate train home).
"You're not security, so you can't stop me!" (Filming said gig) Well, "I'm not a gynecologist either" Guildford, but I know a c--t when I see one...

Also, cheese and onion, smokey bacon.
How does the German palette respond to 'prawn cocktail' flavour crisps or is that - ahh - delight a British speciality unknown beyond our shores?

DAMN. I had 2 weeks off work from my operation. Went back yesterday (Monday).. There was "issues" by lunchtime. The nightly nurse that still comes around to clean/disinfect/pack the wound etc highly recommended I go back to docs as looks like a secondary infection. So I have the rest of this week off.. ARGH :-(
