I really hope the central story line kicks in with Ravenous 3.

I really hope the central story line kicks in with Ravenous 3. Maybe it already has, like with the Red Lady in Doom Coalition? I really hope that the Ravenous are more than the growling and slobbering creatures from volume 2 and there is some kind of driving intelligence behind them...

Big honking ditto. At this point the Ravenous come off as cartoon monsters to me. I'm hoping this box set establishes them as a genuine threat.

In the 'boxset era' of Eight, even the boxes that I haven't immediately enjoyed the first time through, I've come around to really love. At this point, I can say that there isn't a single Eight boxset that I don't enjoy.
Given that this release will be the thirteenth McGann boxset, I am confident that the trend will continue in Ravenous 3 and 4.

I really hope the central story line kicks in with Ravenous 3. I mean I'm pretty sure part of the idea in structuring Ravenous like it is, with one semi-arc related story (Though even then is its own thing) and then unrelated stories for the rest (as opposed to the 4 time-twisting boxsets of Dark Eyes going up and down the Eminence's timeline and the 16-episode saga like Doom Coalition, putting seeds throughout until the last boxset is all arc-related (more or less) is that they're intentionally making this less of a serialised series for the 8th Doctor. So less of a central storyline, more fun adventures (though at some point, I wonder why they even bother and perhaps just do a series of fun adventures rather than any arc. Or something like the Headhunter stuff in the EDA's).

I’m 12 minutes into Companion Piece and...oh my god! 😱 {Spoiler} Yeah I just finished it. Couldn’t for the life of me figure out who the woman that said “I’m not young anymore” was, but it’s a character called Margaret played by Nerys Hughes according to the credits. Weird cameo, guessing she’s a companion we haven’t met yet.
Also I wasn’t expecting quite that many cameos, so that was a nice surprise.

I was worried it would end up being a bit fannish but it wasn’t at all and worked really well.

I was worried it would end up being a bit fannish but it wasn’t at all and worked really well. I understand where you’re coming from, but I wasn’t, so much. I can’t remember the last time I was let down by a story that John Dorney wrote, so I was pretty confident I was in for a treat. I’m glad I was right — he’s done it again

I’m glad I was right — he’s done it again I think for me I was worried it’d end up being more about those particular characters meeting than actually telling a story. And it didn’t help that I had hyped it up, but really I had no reason to be cautious because it was a really strong script.

I actually thought 3.2 Companion Piece When they started talking about a casket, that it was going to be Molly in the Eminence casket in DE3/4.
