A brief exchange I had with Mr Dorney himself on Twitter a little earlier, concerning that mysterious voice... Regarding 3.2 Companion Piece
Very mysterious, so...speculate away!

{That Mysterious Voice} Well....and this is a bloody long shot. But: A couple years back Nerys Hughes did a podcast interview when recording a Tom Baker story, for a big secret story that wasn't going to be released for a 'long long time'. NOW: it could be nothing. But considering that we also have that listing for a mysterious new companion in Shellshock, what if it's Nerys Hughes' character from that story. Perhaps her character ages a lot, from the Shellshock actresses character (I can't recall the name off the top of my head). So this is a new companion for Four, played by two actresses across her life.

Can somebody post the full, unredacted cast list for Companion Piece in a spoiler for reference?

The last as read out by Nick Briggs after the end credits is: 3.2 Companion Piece spoilers if you've not listened yet (cast list) Paul McGann Nicola Walker Hattie Morahan Alex Kingston India Fisher Rakhee Thakrar John Heffernan Frazier Hines Katy Manning - Jo Grant (I specify here only because they say Grant rather than Jones) Louise Jameson Margaret - Nerys Hughes Lalla Ward Matthew Waterhouse Ajaz Awad - Katarina (apologies for undoubtedly butchering the spelling of her name)
"Margaret" is the only mystery to me there.

Some scattered thoughts beyond my original squeeing.... 3.2 Companion Piece {Spoiler} So for The Nine and prisoner-River, this slots in right after The Crucible of Souls during Doom Coalition.
For Romana, she is Lady President, so it could fit in pretty well anywhere from about the Sixie era all the way through to the Time War.
For Charley, this needs to be somewhere between The Next Life and Absolution.
For Bliss, this is sometime prior to her proper debut in Eighth Doctor: Time War 1, and definitely prior to the outbreak of the Time War.
I burst out laughing at the Frobisher bit, both at the mention AT ALL, and at the "he could be considered legitimate!" wink to fandom.
I was happy, sad, and nostalgic all at once that C'Rizz got a name-drop.
Boy, was it ever nice to get an India Fisher appearance. After a while, Charley grated on me during her run with Eight, but it was really, really lovely to hear her back here.

L.E.G.E.N.D....was a touch on the bizarre side? I'm not quite sure what I was expecting, coming out the other side of Companion Piece, but it definitely wasn't that. On some level it kind of reminded me of The Galileo Trap, even though the two stories are obviously very different. I'm also a little bit amused that eating and food keep coming up in this set so prominently (apropos for "Ravenous," I suppose). The two Candyman episodes in the first set, a whole gag conversation about sausages in Salzburg in the second set, and then in this episode, making the Eleven eat his way toward the mirror. Just a bit of a chuckle

Question for those who have listened. Do I need set 2 to understand this. I’m trying to get caught up but missed 2 on the first go and am waiting for it to be on sale, but I don’t want to miss out and this and Ravenous 4.

I've got a question regarding (the brilliant) Companion Piece and hopefully Dorney, or another creative, could answer: {Spoilers} So during the companion montage....well, basically what were the conditions to be in the montage? For example, I'm surprised you did have a cameo of Sheridan Smith in there, or the bucketload of other companions. So was it really just a matter of who would've been recording next? Or a lucky door prize! (Also can I say again how much I loved Companion Piece, utterly superb stuff).

I’m trying to get caught up but missed 2 on the first go and am waiting for it to be on sale, but I don’t want to miss out and this and Ravenous 4. I'm loathe to recommend skipping anything at all, but you can probably get away with passing on Box #1 without too much trouble. Box #2 I recommend not skipping for three reasons: 1) Episode 2.2 "Better Watch Out" and 2.3 "Fairytale of Salzburg" is an amazing Christmassy two-parter, easily the best since The Chimes of Midnight (and maybe even better than. These two stories are worth the price of admission all by themselves. 2) Episode 2.4 "Seizure" sets up a change in the status quo of certain characters from Doom Coalition (that's worded awkwardly, but it's the best non-spoilery way I can think to put it) that's picked up on in Episode 3.1 "Deeptime Frontier." 3) Episode 2.4 "Seizure" is also really the introduction of the Ravenous, and is a cliffhanger that leads directly into Episode 3.1 "Deeptime Frontier" (which further expands on the Ravenous)

I still might grab it though without a sale, just trying to plan accordingly.

I'm loving River's involvement in Eight's adventures! She's quickly become an integral part of the post Dark Eyes era and I'm so happy with how it's turned out.

I actually thought 3.2 Companion Piece When they started talking about a casket, that it was going to be Molly in the Eminence casket in DE3/4. This is what I thought as well, I was shocked when I found out who it was.

Finished up the set on my commute home. Spoilers for 3.4 The Odds Against During the main body of the episode I was finding myself not quite as enthralled with Part 4 as I'd been with the first three...but then that first twist--that I should have seen coming a MILE off but didn't--caught me completely off-guard, and then the second twist was even more of a surprise (and an interesting setup for Ravenous 4). So, you know, great job I also think it's really cool how both 3.2 and 3.4 seeded the Ravenous storyline back into the Doom Coalition timeframe. The two series were always obviously connected, but to stitch them together like this tickled me just right. In all, a fantastic set of stories that I'm thrilled to have been able to experience. I just wish it wasn't such a long wait till the next set! Some thoughts for the future.... Who is "Margaret"? The Nine was collecting companions of the Doctor, so presumably that's what she'll turn out to be in some capacity....but note that the companions he'd captured were from all of the Doctor's incarnations, not just his eighth. So "Margaret" could really turn up anywhere, not necessarily just in Ravenous 4 or beyond.
And what's next after Ravenous? Is all the focus on Ravenous/Time War right now, or are plans being laid out for the next group of box sets?

On a more general/broader note, something else I've been wondering about for the last couple of days that perhaps dorney or @mattfitton might be kind enough to weigh in on... At the outset of putting Doom Coalition together, was The Eleven always intended to be a long-term character in the way we've seen? Or was he originally just a short-term character and his ongoing appearances the pleasant result of everyone having a good time with Mark Bonnar and John Heffernan and wanting to get them back in? No pressure though! Don't feel any obligation to reply, I'm just curious and thought the two of you were the likeliest people to know the answer

And what's next after Ravenous? Is all the focus on Ravenous/Time War right now, or are plans being laid out for the next group of box sets? {Companion Piece Spoiler} Well, and this is just a theory. A couple years back, Nerys Hughes was interviewed on a Big Finish podcast where she was recording some 'top secret' stuff with Tom Baker, and Briggs mentioned it wouldn't be out for a long, long time. Considering that, and also considering that the companion montage was in chronological order for the Doctor (Jamie, Jo, Leela, Romana, Adric), to me I suspect Margaret is another companion that slots in-between Leela and Romana (and after Anne). Now whether or not that's the Fourth Doctor Adventures or something else entirely (I'd love to see Philip Hinchcliffe Presents with a new companion) remains to be seen. But that's my speculation.
As for the future with 8, David Richardson mentioned in the Ravenous 4 announcement that they were already working on plans for the next chapter in 8's life. So who knows. I'm more worried for Helen and Liv's fate. On the one hand, Helen and Liv have been around for a while (Liv especially so) so I could see it time for a new, fresh start for Eight. On the other hand I adore Liv and Helen so much that I don't want them to go!
