Whatever is happening in Cardiff, now that the sensationalist/notmydoctor youtubers/twitterati have had their piece of the rumour pie, I wouldn't trust anything surrounding the original report that there might have been a shift in Cardiff, which may or may not be true.
There seems to be more smoke than usual, though, so a fire is possible, but for all we know, it's all been spun out of proportion.

That sounds very reasonable to me. I am, however, watching this thread like a hawk!

This is frustrating: there may be fire with smoke, but lest we forget, the rumours game is all about smoke and mirrors.
Could it be true? Of course: we don't know after all. But, with all due respect to davy, a website that knows about blu-ray release dates doesn't make it more reliable than anyone else when it comes to knowing info for the active production of the main series. That's like saying knowing when new Batman toys will be released means you know how the shoot for Reeves' movie is going. Especially not something that, at best and the way it's being currently painted, would only be known to a small group of people at the moment. For someone to know this would make them be in a particular position: it's not like a random office runner or teaboy is going to be allowed in on phone calls or meetings.
Plus, there are other issues with the current narrative: in addition to the points I raised with regards to the timeline of events, the idea that the BBC would wait till now, with so much shot and posting, to voice upset at footage doesn't make a lot of practical sense. If the dailies were that bad, Chris and Matt would've already nipped it back with ep.1 and hired a new director to reshoot. It'd cost way less than this, for a start. Plus, the BBC would've known what his vision would be ahead of time in order to agree in the first place, and clearly weren't upset with how S11 performed. Then the whole 'licensees are angry and lied to' thing: given how many flagship shows are now going for longer gaps between seasons, the notion that they 'didn't know' feels flimsy. Plus, there was never a promise in the New Dawn initiative that there would be a full show every year: that was something we all read into it.
And with more respect to xloz, so far, all we have is just 'I heard' or 'someone said': I don't yet see more possible or legitimate fire, save for a lot of projection and favouring, based on outside factors. This is sounding alot like the Sontaran and Rutans stunt from last year. As said, there always a chance this is correct, and I will eat crow if so, but I don't see this as more legitimate than anything else contentious we've heard with S12 before.

Tbh this is giving me flashbacks to the Star Wars fandom about this time last year where a group of the fandom got themselves convinced Kathleen Kennedy was about to be fired, only for it to be announced that her contract was to be extended.

I was specifically rebutting the point it was coming from someone on Twitter with few retweets, not saying it being Roobarbs made it any more true, just that it wasn't something originating from some twitter nut. As I've said a few times, I'm pretty much completely un-interested in the story till something official comes out one way or the other. If Chibnall leaves, the show goes on. If Chibnall stays, the show goes on.

To be fair, there were also plenty of rumours Miller and Lord were to be fired from Solo - that happened. And plenty of rumours that Trevorrow was to be fired from Ep IX - that happened. Some rumours being wrong doesn't mean others can't be right. Stopped clocks and all that.

"You said you'd heard this rumour, I asked if it was true and you said 'yes'." "I said 'yes, it was true that it was a rumour'." "You said you heard it was true." "No, I said it's true that I heard it." Yes, Minister. Perfect in any given situation

If Chibnall stays, the show goes on. FWIW, yep - I understood that. The next Doctor should be a Aussie. That didn't work out so great when they tried it with Bond Tbh this is giving me flashbacks to the Star Wars fandom about this time last year where a group of the fandom got themselves convinced Kathleen Kennedy was about to be fired, only for it to be announced that her contract was to be extended. Sure....but if you're a site that peddles rumours, it's not hard to make stuff up every day, and then happen to be "proven right" six months later purely by chance.

There’s a horror movie called Alien? That’s really offensive. No wonder everyone keeps invading you.

Apparently however it highlights how bad the general PR situation is at the moment that this had/has such traction.
Also remember the RT relies on BBC Co-operation

Not at all. It highlights the toxicity of the internet echo chamber, nothing more.
