Is this the first Gallifrey set to not include Leela? I look forward to the fact that Daleks might not appear that should be interesting the internal political machinations of the Time Lord resurrections.

Just finished listening to part 1 (Havoc), an interesting start to the new box. My mother does seem convinced that Narvin is played by Ade Edminson though... Currently listening to part 2 before heading into town for some air.

I've just finished listening to 'Assassins', the fourth episode and have to say, I really enjoyed the second half of this series and can't wait to see what the next box brings!

Also just finished. I need some time to process everything, but my initial reaction is that I'm very, very happy with it.

Havoc
A very strong start as allegiances shift, effectively the status quo of the last set is practically inverted. Narvin gets lots of good moments too.

Just finished the set, really enjoyed it. Terrance Hardiman is great as Rassilon, he plays it with an almost quiet menace and then suddenly barks out commands, which keeps you on your toes! Rassilon is in it less than I thought, but I liked that, as his presence is felt throughout and him giving the War Council access to do everything really shows how he leads. I liked the mentions of Ollistra and The General, I hope they’ll use the latter at some point. I’m not sure about Ollistra, as I’m not up on my Gallifrey timelines, so I’m not sure how her appearance in Doom Coalition 4 relates to the Gallifrey timeline and all that jazz. If I had a slight criticism, it would be the resolution to Partisans being almost identical to that of The Day of the Doctor. It slightly undermines the risks the Doctors took, as well as the originality of their idea and how they do it with hindsight. I’m looking forward to the next set: It'll be nice to get Leela back in the fold again, assuming they find her in Volume 3, before she inevitably ends up lost again.
I’m curious to see who will play the new Rassilon, or if they keep Hardiman.
In a way I wish they’d not arrested Narvin and then sent him off with Romana. There was a lot of effort put into giving him a new regeneration cycle and offering him a War Council position, that it would’ve been nice to have maintained that in the next set and contrast it with Romana’s fall from grace. I didn’t quite see why he would be arrested; he’d already got Rassilon’s approval and the new position, stated he wanted no part in the assassination and turned up after it had been carried out by Romana and Livia.

Yeah I don’t think there’s any way they can have Ollistra appear unless some timey-wimey shenanigans go on because she regenerates into the Jacqueline Pearce incarnation long before the beginning of the War and is still in that incarnation by the end of the War Doctor series. I think Doom Coalition is between Enemy Lines and Time War 1 but no one can really be sure, other than that Doom Coalition is before the War and the War Council has begun preparing for it, which they’re still doing at the start of Time War 1.

Finished up the set. Good stuff all round; Romana and Narvin are served well, the supporting characters are well-depicted and Hardiman’s Rassilon really feels like a distant almost-god looking at his people almost disappointed. {Spoiler} Surprised Romana and Narvin are seemingly off Gallifrey itself now, but the search for Leela sounds promising. Hopefully they can bump into a few other friends out in the Time War too.
As for Rassilon, I was surprised they chose to end Hardiman’s incarnation so quickly, hopefully they use the character again.

I loved that! Thoroughly enjoyable from start to finish. Sure, none of the twists were all that surprising (the 'twist' in Collateral was so obvious I'd worked it out literally 4 minutes into the story), but the conflicting morals of the characters was great to listen to.
I, too, am surprised by how short-lived Hardiman's incarnation is going to be. I'd assumed they'd intended on keeping him until Volume 4, but clearly not...
Also, regarding Ollistra, I think they could regenerate her on again after Doom Coaltion 4, have the War Council decide that they preferred the previous one and have them forcibly regenerate her back again (re-establishing Jacqueline Pearce's incarnation for the War Doctor stories). It would be a good way to continue the character, who is definitely worth seeing more of, while still sticking to the established continuity.

Unless they have a Post-War/End Of War Incarnation coming back to try and get things done right the second time around.
