There’s a horror movie called Alien? That’s really offensive. No wonder everyone keeps invading you.

This is good news for Rose fans but it's not my cup of tea. I do hope it does well though; as with Big Finish continuing to trawl through new series properties success of spin-offs like this means it can only be a matter of time before we get the Dalek Sec: Earth Attack box set or Rusty on the Rampage (Vol.1). So good luck to them. I'm holding out for the Abzorbaloff's Atomatized Antagonism myself Elton Gets His Asphalt
... I'll see myself out.

This is actually a lot more interesting than Earth Defence, so I’m more than happy to get this.

I'm not a big Rose fan, and didn't think Billie was too adept at reprising the role for the 10DAs but I'm glad her large fanbase get this treat. I'll be getting it anyway, but it doesn't excite me quite like say Lucie's upcoming box does. However I LOVE this from the news piece: "The series has its own distinct tone. Focusing on the era of Russell T Davies, there are no alien threats or villains to defeat. Instead these amazing stories capture and showcase the beautifully rich human characters of Doctor Who..." I'm always advocating more character pieces, less rehashed adventures. The drama can be internal, too. That BF put this loud and proud on the news story makes me think it maybe will be more my thing than I expected. I agree with you about Billie and the 10DAs she did, which is why I think anything set after Doomsday will play to her strengths. The way she played Rose on audio sounded and was rather like the way she played her in Turn Left onwards. It’s partially why I personally would’ve liked the announcement being Billie reprising The Moment, telling War Doctor stories. A small introduction by her detailing how she read into the Doctor’s mind, maybe followed by a couple of Short Trip-esque readings, comprising the first disc. And then do the following three in a Chronicles style.

If anything, I'll probably end up getting this just for more Jackie... Well, and for more parallel universe content - I absolutely love alternate universe material. I'm not sure whether this'll end up being a one-off or if we'll see this become an ongoing series - if it does, I certainly hope we bring in a few Unbound Doctors! Any excuse for more David Warner - though I'd REALLY like to see how Rose would hold up facing the Valeyard or David Collings' Unbound Doctor... Anyways, as it is now, it's not an immediate preorder from me, but I'm keeping it on my list. This could give Nick Briggs the perfect opportunity to do a special one-off return to the Exile universe and Arabella Weir's Doctor, exactly what we've all been waiting for. Imagine it: Rose arrives in this universe and feels a bit peckish, goes to Sainsbury's to get a sausage roll but ends up finding the Doctor. It practically writes itself!

I'm not a fan of Rose Tyler (especially in Series 2, although her later appearances are somewhat better imo) but the way they describe the stories, it does sound kinda intriguing. So I might end up buying this. But with 8th of March and Legacy of Time, that's pretty much my boxset budget for next year covered... I'll see what I do when it gets closer to the release date.

Can we please just get an entire box that's set in Clive's shed? Please?

Actually, now they've got Clive, maybe a Short Trip/Companion Chronicle as told by him would be interesting...

I suppose I'll hold off to see what you all say. I usually do if it's a release with no Doctor in it. I'm in this for the main character, not necessarily the entirety of the extended universe (though I cannot say enough good things about the Dalek Empire series). Though I'm not so great at being consistent in that regard. Have DE, Cyberman, all the River sets, War Master, Gallifrey. My list keeps getting longer...
There's also the money issue: I only have so much.

When one tells him he doesn't believe them By the end he's still on a quest to meet the Doctor despite already been embroiled in their adventures.

What a fantastic surprise! I've been hoping ever since Billie Piper joined the Big Finish family that a Rose spin off would happen. This immediately becomes a highly anticipated release for me. I love the character-centric, family-driven take on the material, too. It's delightful to see the cast for this includes Jackie, Pete, and Clive. These are all characters I've wanted to hear more from. Does anyone else feel like Clive presenting a series of weird tales of the Doctor culled from his research would be an awesome ongoing series of short trips?
