There's a rather surprising reaction to this news from Noel Clark on Twitter. Regards mark687 Not seeing it - can you link? I think it's a joke - he replied to somebody hoping Mickey would be in a future set saying "unsurprising, the disrespect for myself and Mickey Smith is unreal". I have read elsewhere he was approached for this but they couldn't make the dates work, FWIW.

If he'd just referred to the Character I'd agree maybe a joke but the fact he said Myself as well makes me wonder if its a more serious comment or he could've added an Emoji.

I think you're reading into it more than he put into it It's a joke. Don't think there's even a "maybe" about it. He's just got a sarcastic sense of humour. Edit after your edit: I don't think we need emojis to detect jokes, surely? He's just playing the victim for a laugh.

I don’t think it’s a joke. I think it’s a simple case that the offer was made to Noel’s agent and they turned it down, either because he was unavailable on the recording days or because the fee wasn’t high enough.

I guess the reasons will come out eventually

I don’t know. It sure feels like a tongue in cheek play on Mikey and the way he was always thought of as the little tin dog.

The "Bad Wolf Gang"? I don't have any of the New Series novelisations, but I've seen plenty of people talk about them and not one person mentioned these people. Who are they? (And, more importantly, is it that big of a deal that they're involved in this?)

I'd rather have Mickey, but you can't have everything

It’s a strange addition to the article. It seems like a big thing, but now I’ve read up on who the Bad Wolf gang are, I just feel like doing a Partridge inspired shrug! I’ve not read the Rose novel, so it might all make sense, but it feels odd to go in that direction without Mickey.
I’m still looking forward to the set, though!

Some of Mickey's friends who are in a band called the Bad Wolf Gang (incidentally they are, a Trans Woman and a Gay Couple]
