In my best Scottish Bargain voice Zoom have the standard DVD or Blu-Ray Versions are a couple of £ Cheaper (plus the additional Customer 10% Discount) but the Steelbook is £11 cheaper (plus the additional Customer 10% Discount) www.zoom.co.uk/category/doctor_who_the_macra_terrorRegards mark687 In my normal voice (which is Scottish):
Whilst Amazon's prices for the various versions will likely drop and they have a pre-order price promise, that's not the case with Zoom. So with Zoom, including the 10% discount, the steelbook is £26.09. HMV have the steelbook at £24.99 which also gets purepoints (I'm just a few thousand points away from being able to cash them in for a £50 voucher - braw!!).

Apologies normally another Scott posts the link first and points out the good value for money.

I do work 40 hours a week - I don't get to do everything I'd like when I like Yes, like Andrew I'm with HMV for this (on 138,000 purepoints and blurays get you double points) - also the quidco cashback will give me back 42p, plus a £2.50 bonus (if you use a lot of retailers and don't use Quidco, you're mad) so HMV's will work out about 22 quid when alls said and done, I'll take that

Honestly, I haven't even watched Power in colour, I like the black and whites to stay that way but commercially making a colour one gives them options on selling it on so I'm all for it. Is this getting a US release? Don't think Power or Shada did on bluray did they?
The 'universal' Shada Blu-Ray for Shada I had didn't work. I had to refund it (though I have a memory of asking people here if they wanted me to mail it to them, and I thought I had. But my emails contain a refund thing from Amazon so......so my memory must not be all that great).
The Shada DVD I bought instead plays at home. So does Power. I'm in the US. I'm not sure off the top of my head which region each is for, since I dedicated our TV's Blu-Ray/DVD player to region one, and my computer (using an Apple Superdrive) to your region. The latter being because after 5 uses of a region, I think it locks-in to only read that region's disks.
Shada's bluray is, I believe, region free but with the caveat that it's in 1080i50 content, which not all US players (or tellys) can display. A bit like PAL vs NTSC. Net result is the same sadly in not playing but if you have a bluray drive for your computer that should work when 1080i50 content is played.

Polyband are great for BluRay releases and tend to insist on genuine HD masters. Dreamland will definitely be the HD master sourced from the BBC.

I'm surprised the trailer was in colour.

I'm surprised the trailer was in colour. Like Power of the Daleks, we’re getting both colour and black and white versions.

On a personal level, I wasn't a fan of the technicolor version of Power, for me, although very respectfully done, they didn't really suit the era or the story.

I had just reached enough points for a £50 voucher and also received a £20 gift card for Christmas. Nipped down today to spend those before administrators come in and start off by putting an end to gift card use.
Depending on how things go for HMV, those of us who pre-ordered the Macra Terror from them may wish to consider cancelling their order sooner rather than later if it starts to look like the order will not be fulfilled.

Just back from HMV myself Andrew. I cashed in my points just in time before the site went down on the 29th, and went in store and picked up the new William Castle at Columbia Vol 2 boxset. Sad to think it could be gone soon enough. THey're still accepting PurePoints but not giving new ones - and not letting people redeem them if they haven't put them on their card already....a lot of people will be on the verge of vouchers and not going to get the. I didn't use Paypal for my Macra order so I haven't been charged but anyone who has....think about cancelling.

Unlikely that this title will sell out like the season blu-ray sets have been doing but just in case I cancelled my HMV order and went with Amazon, whose pre-order price has dropped to the same as HMV. Hopefully HMV can be saved. I'd miss Fopp more. Every time I'm in Edinburgh or Glasgow I try to get to Fopp.

Every time I'm in Edinburgh or Glasgow I try to get to Fopp. I live right next to the FOPP in the West End of Glasgow - it's always busy, as is the one on Union St and HMV in town - but I guess that's the problem - a few branches have done gangbusters for ages but there are too many stores not doing so well. Hopefully they can be streamlined rather than liquidated totally as there is a solid, smaller chain to be had. I just feel bad for the 2000 staff. Not knowing whether you've got a job on New Year's Day is horrible. I've got Crimson Peak from Arrow Video pre-ordered through HMV for next week - will be monitoring that closely.

Do we know if there's a content difference between the steelbook and the standard bluray?

One of my all-time favourite stories!!! Roll on March! (Or April, or whenever-the-hell I'm able to watch it in Australia ) They better not make the Macra move like they do in the Facebook video though - they gotta look authentic Seems I wasn't wrong with the April estimate - just found the first Australian listing for the DVD/Blu-ray releases, release date April 17: www.sanity.com.au/products/2411870/Doctor_Who_-_The_Macra_Terror
