The trailer for Rage of the Time Lords was attached to the download of Master of Callous and revealed Paul McGann would be playing the Doctor in it. My physical copy of MoC has arrived and behind the last disc shows the cover for the upcoming third set. Sorry for the poor photo, I couldn’t remove the plastic, otherwise I’d have scanned it high quality!

Yes. It was inevitable really that BF would do this. Not sure if it will work but I have grown bored of River Song because the gimmick of her meeting previous Doctors has become tiresome for me - it is slipping into fanfic which can happen sometimes I feel with BF. I hope they don't do the same with War Master but somehow think they won't be able to resist.

Well I guess Eight’s memory is about to take another battering.
Hopefully this will continue the high standard of the first two sets.

So when he met Yana he didn’t put two and two together.

I also think they might be able to get away with a traditional mind-wipe this time, since a lot of time passes between Night of the Doctor and Yana, and the Doctor goes through so much and is so traumatized, that it just does not click. After all, there were PTSD cases of war veterans out there who did not even recognize their own family when they returned.

Well bang goes my theory that the Doctor in this set would be Doctor Ogron!
I am pleased there will be some crossover between these War ranges, fingers crossed the Gallifrey will get some more.

It’ll be interesting to see if any of the events of Rage of the Time Lords crosses over into Eighth Doctor: Time War 3. They’re both out in the same month, after all.

I wonder how far developed the plans for the War Master and the second set of War Doctor stories were when John Hurt passed away. I would be amazed if someone, somewhere at BF hadn't at least mooted the idea of Jacobi and Hurt meeting.

Seems Time War 3 has been pushed back to August. www.bigfinish.com/releases/v/the-eighth-doctor---the-time-war-series-03-1675Presumably they felt with this, the Lucie Miller set and Legacy of Time that July had enough McGann content to be going on.

With them both doing four boxsets I am sure someone will be able to mock up a meeting at some point.

I seem to recall that Nicholas Briggs mentioning in the John Hurt DWM tribute issue that they’d got John Hurt on board for sets 5-8. Realistically, they’d have been recorded in 2017 to be released in the latter half of 2017 until around now. So it does seem somewhat inevitable that they’d have gotten an encounter between the War Doctor and the War Master, regardless of which range it would’ve occurred in.

Well spotted! A month isn’t a major delay, certainly shouldn’t have an impact on any crossovers, if they were to happen.

Just to clarify, Only the Good was initially conceived as a one-off, so even when further War Doctor was in development, that was the only War Master release on the cards, and John Hurt had sadly passed before we'd recorded even that first set. I also still see people saying we just reworked War Doctor scripts as War Master tales - but again, I've never been across the War Doctor material, so commissioned stuff for the character of the Master. Which hopefully shows in the content!

And I could listen to McGanns sexy voice all day to be honest...
