Not at all. Can you elaborate? It’s closer to the “Dark Shadows” feel than the Tony & Cassandra Mysteries (which I have actually grown to really enjoy, after my initial reluctance to warm up). Maybe it’s the love story that you think feels different? It reminds me of the initial premise for DS—a gothic romance/soap. Yeah, it's the love story. Maybe it was part of the show and I've not seen most of it, but Quentin and Maggie never seemed like a likely couple to me. Did I miss something? Cause I don't remember those two ever being a thing. They are a couple by the time of Return to Collinwood, the first ever audio drama (which was not by Big Finish) and is set in the 2000s. The Big Finish continuity takes Return to Collinwood as canon so a lot of what is done paves the way to that. (Hence Maggie's knowledge of the supernatural is wiped in Bloodlust so she doesn't know about it by RtC.) Maggie and Quentin is set after RtC so she finds out about it again. Poor ducks.

Ah, thank you. I've only listened to BF Dark Shadows. That's why I was confused. Still not a fan of that pairing, although the actual set was very, very good.

Quentin and Maggie were a couple in the Parallel Time band on the TV show if it helps.
Not that it was a happy union.
As an aside, I had the great pleasure of watching Kathryn and Daisy record their parts in London (Kathryn did two in London and two in the US).
They were great fun sessions to attend. And great company down the pub after.

During the Leviathan plot, Angelique casts a spell for Quentin and Maggie to be more into each other at one point or another, so maybe you can blame that, haha. When we get to 1970, Quentin and Maggie were seen doing things together that read as pretty couple-like, such as a picnic and I think I remember a few drawing room scenes that start off with them being there alone, so maybe Angelique's spell never was uncast or it naturally happened.
Loved the stories and I'm being picky here. Quentin and Maggie is great, but I did have to remind myself of where it was in the continuity. I'm so happy that Big Finish is moving beyond Return to Collinwood (so many threads that are begging for continuations). The first story did a good job with playing with where in the timeline this tale is, but maybe some of the other tales could have snuck in some more reminders (I know I wasn't able to listen to all these in one go). So happy that once again Big Finish did such an amazing job with these stories that this is my biggest issue.

I have the entire Dark Shadows Collection, but I haven't listened to them all... but started on a few the last couple of days... A Face To Remember - From Haunted Memories.
BUMMER! I had hoped BFP would do a full audio for 'Young Elizabeth' and detail the happenings of Liz & Paul & Victoria and Carolyn and the locked room in the basement and Jason McGuire.
Oh well, at least there was a short story about a 'ghost' from Elizabeth's past. I guess that'll have to do. sigh.

Here's to hoping they're saving something more substantial for if they can convince Alexandra Moltke to reprise her role. Return to Collinwood certainly set up a promising premise.

Pleasepleasepleasepleasepleasepleaseplease. This is the one area of the BF audios (and DS in general) that feels unsatisfying to me. If I knew there was a light at the end of the tunnel (i.e., an audio where Vicky is "saved" and finds out the truth of her parentage), I'd happily wait. But I hate waiting for potentially no payoff.

Hmm, one of the audios, I think it's part three in fact, (The Hollow Winds something something) Maggie & Quentin talk about the oddity of their pairing. "like some people didn't expect us to end up together."

I got to say this and hopefully not upset too many folks lol but I don’t get them as a couple I do much prefer the Susan and David pairing and hopefully it is some supernatural pairing I love the box set of the Maggie and Quentin but something just doesn’t settle with me about their love....come on Big Finish splits em up 🤪🤪

Maggie and Quentin get together after Lela and Quentin. It is stated that the box set of Maggie and Quentin is set after Return to Collinwood, which is set in 2003. Quentin and Lela are married in the mid 80's. Unless someone goes back in time and disturbs the timelines. ;-)

Gave another listen to The Harvest of Souls. This and The House By the Sea are such profound testaments to Colin Baker's talent, I should be thinking of him in his many-colored Doctor coat when I hear this but he has me totally buying his Dark Shadows characters. Kathryn Leigh Scott is likewise brilliant in Harvest of Souls. It's also a great story, and one of the wonderfully life-affirming Dark Shadows audios.

Was in the mood for Dark Shadows today and couldn't make up my mind what. I thought why not go back to the beginning then, so re-listens for House of Despair and The Book of Temptation.

Recently listened to the first half of Part 2 of Angelique's Descent, remarkable story and audio that I'd been saving for as long as I could. I enjoyed that so much I'm probably going to have to listen to the second part soon, but at least I'll still have the Audible versions ahead of me if I get back in the habit of using my Kindle, since it's the only thing I have that I can play them on.

I started into the season arc from The Phantom Bride to Beyond the Grave, heard the first four yesterday but still haven't got to the last two and really looking forward to them. The Flip Side is still one of my all-time favorites. I love the touches that both Cody Schell and Joe Lidster add to their stories, they're quite obviously the work of people who really love what they're writing for.
