I do hope when they eventually bring out The Big Finish Companion 3 that they include the Dark Shadows range within its pages.

Abso-bloomin-lutely! Was great to hear Dark Shadows finally get a nod in the podcast, and beyond whatever the latest release is. Now.. if Big Finish were to offer up a large promotional sale, say for the whole of November (the dark shadows are always darkest in November..) to entice new listeners and help those of us with.. umm...'significant' gaps in their collection, then I for one would happily throw the odd pound or two their way...π

it was nice actually listening to Nick Briggs being unknowlegeable for a change about Dark Shadows and am sure Nick would actually be able to turn in a great script and push himself into a different style ,would be interesting to see what he would come up with maybe when he is older and wanting to take a back seat in the company π€ͺ.If anybody could do Dark Shadows time travel wimey it would be John Dorney. But its good they still are a range that push new writers along with the old.
Joe makes a good point that Big Finish doesnβt do anything quite like it....and perhaps thats why it stands apart writing wise from the rest.

True...but with one eye on my wallet and the other on the number of gaps in my collection I'm holding out for a sale at some point.. ...and I only had to wait eleven days for it to happen! Falling just nicely in time with payday, Twenty three CDs and one download snapped up and a rather large gap in the dramatised readings now filled in. π

Listened to part of Dark Shadows The Legend Reborn this afternoon. The interview tracks were interesting, but the rest of the CD seems to be all sound tracks. If that's the case (and as lovely as the music is), I think I'll move on to an actual story.
Can anyone confirm, is the anything else on the CD besides the interviews at the beginning and the sound track?

I listened to Angelique's Descent over this past week. I knew nothing, really, about Angelique's background, so the story told was something totally unexpected. Very interesting story and background for the rest of Dark Shadows.

Just listened to The Devil Cat - I know very little about Dark Shadows if I'm honest and have dipped into the ranges a few times and, whilst entertained, find some of the ongoing stuff a bit hard to follow. I didn't realise both leads in this were in Bloodlust for instance!
However, Tony and Cassandra as characters leapt out from the first few lines. Jerry Lacy and Lara Parker have the perfect voices for audio - I could have listened to them all day. The story was really entertaining, a nice mix of camp and the macabre. I loved Wendy Albiston as Ruby and Sarah Sutton as Miss Simon was an added treat - I initially bought this to hear her in another role other than Nyssa.
I'm still unsure as to where I stand on Dark Shadows in general but other ranges were slow burners so I shall continue to plod on. Based on this I think I will investigate The Toby and Cassandra Mysteries in the future...

If Tony and Cassandra is your thing then before diving into the Tony and Cassandra Mysteries I can recommend diving into their other escapades in the Dramatised readings range - The Death Mask, The Voodoo Amulet, The Last Stop and The Phantom Bride. π
