Last thing I ate was MATZAH! Next thing I'm going to eat is MATZAH! Nothing but MATZAH for the next week! (Well, I did also have some oranges and coffee for breakfast. And farmer cheese on the matzah.)

I am drinking coffee from my official BBC approved Doctor Who "Disappearing TARDIS" mug. The mug has a notation on the bottom that says "For best results use other side." I have yet to figure out what this means. Other side of what? What does "best results" mean? What exactly are they worrying about? In other news, I had oatmeal for breakfast. Passover is over, so no more matzah. (Unless I want it, which I won't, for a while.)

I'm guessing it's a little joke, i.e. Use the cup the right way round and don't try to use it upside-down. Maybe? Cup of tea and a slice of Battenburg cake . Cheers Tony

Cheers Tony I've never heard of Battenburg cake. I'm sure if it's cake, it's good, but what is it, exactly?

I've never heard of Battenburg cake. I'm sure if it's cake, it's good, but what is it, exactly? It's lovely, that's what it is . Two opposite colours of sponge set in a square of marzipan. Far too much sugar lol... Attachment DeletedAttachment DeletedSorry for quality of photos, hope they explain better than I can Cheers Tony

Looks very pretty, too. And isn't "too much sugar" the point of cake?

I forgot to say that if you get a proper one it comes in a big block so you can cut as big of a slice as you want . Can also get pre-cut slices (what's the point of that lol) or mini (whole) ones in boxes of 5 (I think). It's probably my most favourite cake Cheers Tony

Thin sliced steak sauteed with onions, mushrooms, green peppers, chili and rice.
And a day ago, we made a Chinese chef in Chinatown (NYC) very happy by being one of the few Americans who order things like dry-sauteed pork intestine with hot chili. (It was excellent)

I get that by not ordering butter chicken at an Indian restaurant. Hah. My great challenge is convincing Indian and other places that when I tell the server that I'm a pepper freak and therefore want the dish as hot as humanly possible, they don't do it. Whether they don't believe me or they want to play it safe on the liability front, I just can't get properly hot food.* I think I may have to start bringing jars of Scorpion Pepper to restaurants.... *However, Zoe's Chinese in Cambridge, MA, has an "extra spicy" option. They will actually throw tons of thai chilis and other into the food if you select it.
