Last year I got an auto-reply e-mail when I submitted each of my entries, but I didn't get one this time. Did anyone else? I'd gotten this: Hello. Thanks for emailing the Big Finish Competitions address.
The 2019 Short Trips opportunity is currently underway and closes at 23:59 GMT on SUNDAY 30th JUNE 2019.
If you have entered a story, please consider this confirmation that we have received you story. We do not reply to entries.
If, however, you have emailed with a question, we will endeavour to get back to you as quickly as we can.Same!

Hmm, that's strange... according to my sent e-mails I sent my entry on June 30th at 8:46am GMT. So not what you'd call early, but not exactly the bleeding edge of the last second either. The address was correct and it definitely sent, no "this e-mail was undeliverable" errors or the like.
Do you think I should e-mail them again to ask if it was received? Not much that could be done at this point if it wasn't, but it would be good to know either way.

According to the Terms and Conditions the Winner should have been Contacted Today Regards mark687 Wasn't me then! Congrats to the winner, whomever they are. I hope they're wearing holes in their floors from jumping for joy so much! A few other entrants on Gallifrey Base were saying that they hadn't received auto-replies for their entries either. Could it be our spam filters were just a little overzealous?

I realize that they donât take unsolicited scripts but out of curiosity how do they get new writers other than the few contests/ opportunities? There must be other ways that are solicited besides thoseđ€ There was a separate contest to write a Bernice Summerfield short trip last year. (I didn't enter since I wasn't caught up on her stuff in the novels/audios at the time, so I didn't feel I'd have a good handle on her character.) Not sure if that contest was a one-off or if it will become a regular event, but keep an eye out for it just in case

Hi has anyone heard anything yet? I saw that someone had made the shortlist, so I am wondering if they already contacted the winner or if they could still have yet to send out the email to them. Also feeling pretty down and frustrated that they have not even set me a rejection letter đdoes anyone know if there are any other ways to submit pitches to big finish other times of the year but would like to see if there are other opportunities as well as this contest? You only get asked to pitch if they know who you are and need something that suits you. If you look a number of new writers have also worked professionally in similar areas. I was well known to Ian through reviewing, and be gave me a chance. Other producers havenât

No news, but if anyone is curious, I never did hear back about the e-mail auto-reply issue. I'd suggest that anyone else who failed to receive an auto-reply for their entry should perhaps contact BF individually, just to confirm that this really did affect multiple people.

So of the 4 winners to date, one amazing story was for my Doctor (Third) and now one for my New Who Doctor! I approve.
Well done Ben, I hope you will join us on DU sometime.

Hello again.
Oh well done Ben. And a Twelfth Doctor story too. Hurrah! I wonder which season this story will hail from. Having just watched the entire Twelfth Doctor's era it will be interesting to see Ben's take on Ole Grumpy.
I look forward to its release. Finally, well done to all those who entered. It's all good experience.
